Preshow highlights

Before the preshow started, it was officially announced that Rusev is out. A "former world champion" will replace him in the Chamber

Kane has a phone call that is interrupted by The New Day (sporting new gear), who wants their back scratched for helping The Authority on SmackDown. Kane responds by saying that all three New Day members can participate in the match...this will be fun.

WWE has actually done a good job in maintaining NXT continuity with the Neville/Dallas match

Lana answers some questions in the Social Media Lounge. She chooses to be free, and she pretty much apologized for the whole anti-American schtick. She also finds Dolph Ziggler funny.

Summer Rae introduces The Miz back to WWE (oh yeah, he was gone for a while, and he is back to his delusional Hollywood persona.

After replaying Daniel Bryan's surrendering of the IC Title, Miz introduces Bryan to a big ovation.

Miz wishes Bryan a speedy recovery, and then starts talking just to hear himself talk. Bryan says that his career is not over, and he WILL be back. Miz then starts badgering Bryan about his Five-Hour Energy ad campaign as well as his clothing. I must say that I've missed self-indulgent Miz

Bryan finally tells Miz to shut up, and says that he's in Corpus Christi to present the IC Title to whoever survives the Chamber match.

After a physical exchange is teased, Bryan calls MizTV "boring", and has an idea to liven it up: MACHO MANDOW AND AXELMANIA!!! They make short work of Miz.

Eden interviews Dean Ambrose, who vows to swing at anyone and everyone. Roman Reigns comes in and says that he'll be in Ambrose's corner during this match. The only thing Ambrose has to worry about is Seth Rollins

Zack Ryder vs Stardust

Hey, Lillian Garcia is back

Ryder is able to take advantage early with some technical moves and throws Stardust outside and delivers a sliding dropkick.

Once back inside, Stardust takes control with a ground kick and a few other moves. A brief bow-and-arrow is locked in, but Ryder reverses this into a pin attempt.

After a little longer, Ryder is able to even the odds after reversing a suplex into a neckbreaker. It should be noted that the commentary team is not talking about the match at all.

Both men end up outside on the ground after Ryder hits a missile dropkick from the apron. After a pin exchange, Stardust hits a Side Effect, but cannot take advantage.

Ryder hits the Broski Boot, but Stardust kicks out at two. He tries for a Rough Ryder, but it is reversed. After an enziguiri attempt, Stardust reverses into <strike>Cross Rhodes</strike> the Queen's Crossbow for the win.

Your teams in the pods are the Primetime Players, Los Matadores (with El Torito on top of the pod), The Brass Ring Club, and The New Day.

The Lucha Dragons and The Ascension will start this mess off.

The Ascension try to go for an early advantage, but are stopped by some creative double-teaming from The Lucha Dragons. It should be noted that Cesaro is doing pull-ups in his pod.

Eventually The Ascension is able to overpower The Lucha Dragons with their strength. Kalisto is boosted onto The New day's pod, and they are able to hold him down.

Sin Cara gets onto a pod and SWANTON FROM THE POD!!! Kalisto is still stuck on New Day's pod.

Next team: The Brass Ring Club

The BRC gets busy immediately with some double teaming. Cesaro jumps to the New Day's pod, uppercuts Kalisto, and superplexes him FROM THE POD!!! Kidd follows up with an elbow, and Sin Cara saves Kalisto from the pin. He is tossed outside for his trouble.

The BRC turn their attention toward The Ascension. Viktor is able to get some offense on Kidd, who eventually locks in a Sharpshooter which is broken by Konnor.

Sin Cara hits La Mistica on Cesaro, and Kalisto is send outside. He starts climbing on the Chamber as insanity ensues in the ring.

Next team: Los Matadores

Los Matadores and El Torito start cleaning house as Kalisto continues to climb. After double lungblowers are hit, KALISTO DROPS FROM THE TOP OF THE CHAMBER AND TAKES EVERYONE OUT!!!

El Torito tries to repeat the feat, but is caught and turned into a bull-missile by The Ascension, who eliminates Los Matadores with The Fall of Man

Los Matadores eliminated by The Ascension.

In the ring, The Ascension makes quick work of The Lucha Dragons by eliminating Kalisto with The Fall of Man

The Lucha Dragons eliminated by The Ascension

The Ascension turn their attention to The BRC as the countdown starts again.

Next team: The Primetime Players

The PTP enter and are greeted by The Ascension. After a short beatdown, The PTP roar back and eliminate The Ascension after Darren Young gut-checks Viktor

The Ascension eliminated by The Primetime Players

The PTP start working over The BRC now. Kidd is able to hit Young with the fisherman's buster, and Cesaro dropkicks and uppercuts him. A tower of doom ensues when Titus O'Neil powerbombs Cesaro, who gutwrench superplexes Young.

Final team: The New Day

All three New Day members charge in and start working over everyone. A TRIPLE SUPLEX SPOT HAPPENS AND THAT WAS COOL!

The BRC takes advantage of Xavier Woods and locks him back into The New Day's pod to even the numbers.

The BRC use the swing/dropkick combo on Kofi Kingston and Kidd covers. However, Young rolls up Cesaro for a pin.

The Brass Ring Club eliminated by The Primetime Players

After the elimination, The New Day starts working over The PTP and take out O'Neil. They set up Young for the finish, but Young fights out and hurls Big E into the ring post AND pod.

Eventually O'Neil frees himself and The PTP start to beat up The New Day a bit. Young hits Kingston with the Gut Check, but Kingston kicks out at two.

Outside, Young is suplexed onto the steel grate. Inside, O'Neil tries to fight off the New Day, but he cannot overcome the numbers game. The New Day win after Trouble in Paradise.

Nikki Bella vs Paige vs Naomi (Divas Championship)

It should be noted that Brie is not with Nikki, and Tamina is not with Naomi per The Authority

Match starts, and Naomi eats an early Bellahammer, leaving Paige and Nikki to fight amongst themselves for a moment until Naomi pulls Nikki out and throws her into the announce table.

Back inside, Naomi goes for a crossbody on Paige, but Paige moves and gets a two count. Paige starts to hit her short-arm clotheslines and a fall-away slam on Naomi for two.

Nikki gets back in and stars working over Paige. Nikki whips Paige into the corner with Naomi. After a corner clothesline, Nikki hits an Alabamaslam on Paige for two after Naomi breaks the pin.

Naomi starts to dominate and throws Nikki out of the ring. She turns her attention to Paige and starts working her over. They eventually end up on the turnbuckle where we see another tower of doom (Nikki powerbombs Naomi while Naomi back-suplexes Paige).

Nikki starts to go for the Rack Attack, but Naomi hits the Rear View. The pin is broken by Paige, who tries for the Scorpion Crosslock. This time, Naomi breaks the hold.

Paige starts working over Naomi and the two end up on the turnbuckle. Paige starts going for an electric chair, but Naomi reverses into something (bad attempt at a poison frankensteiner). Nikki comes back and hits the Rack Attack for the win.

John Cena vs Kevin Owens

IT'S HAPPENING!!!

The bell rings, and the two tie up. A huge "FIGHT OWENS FIGHT" chant starts. After a whip, Owens eats a shoulder block as Cena celebrates.

Cena teases another tie up, but Owens kicks Cena and starts using some huge strikes. During this, Jerry Lawler references his match with Kevin Owens.

Cena hits a bulldog on Owens, but Owens comes back with another kick to the midsection to return it to his pace. Owens starts bad-mouthing Cena as he controls, eventually taking Cena to Headlock City, BI.

Cena powers out of the headlock and goes for an AA, but Owens reverses into a big DDT for two. Owens starts to measure Cena and lands a big boot to the face. As Owens panders, Cena tries to roll him up, but it gets two and Owens strikes some more.

Owens climbs to the top rope, but gets crotched for his trouble. Cena gets on the turnbuckle and an exchange starts with Owens getting the advantage. Owens goes for a double jump moonsault, but Cena dodges and hits the AA....FOR TWO!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!

They get to their feet and start trading more blows with Owens winning with a superkick. Owens stands over Cena and starts mocking the Five Knuckle Shuffle. However, Cena plays possum and locks in the STF. Owens fights out and HITS AN AA FOR TWO!!!

Owens get back up and teases the Package Piledriver, but turns it into a kind of powerbomb for two...I CAN'T BREATHE!

Owens gets Cena back up and tells him to stay down, but Cena won't stay down. He keeps fighting, and the two trade strikes again. Cena hits the springboard stunner, but it only gets two as Cena gets frustrated.

Cena gets Owens on the top turnbuckle for a superplex, but OWENS TURNS IT INTO AN AVALANCHE FISHERMAN'S BUSTER FOR TWO. OWENS THEN HITS A SWANTON FOR TWO AND MY CAPS IS BROKEN!!!

Owens charges to Cena, who charges with a huge clothesline or few to knock Owens down.

Owens hits a second pop-up powerbomb and PINS CENA CLEAN!!!

Kevin Owens def John Cena

HOLY. CRAP. THAT WAS AMAZING!!!

Bo Dallas vs Neville

Bo enters and cuts a promo on Neville, saying that he's tried to be nice, but it hasn't been worth it.

A NXT chant starts as the bell rings. These two start technical with Neville getting the upper hand. It should be noted that Dallas was going for Neville's injured knee.

Neville briefly gets the upper hand and goes for an early Red Arrow, but Dallas rolls out of the ring. Despite this, Neville hits a moonsault to the outside.

After a chinlock, Dallas starts begging to Neville, saying that he was trying to help him. Neville replies with some kicks until Dallas tosses him outside and starts beating him up and wearing him down with some headlocks and knees.

A while later, Neville gets up and throws a running Dallas into the turnbuckle. Neville starts to come back with some stiff strikes and a standing shooting star press for two.

Dallas tries to get the win with a DDT, but it only gets two, leaving him in disbelief. He sets up for the Running Bo-dog, but Neville reverses this and kicks Dallas to lala land. The Red Arrow gets the win.

Rollins starts to go to the top turnbuckle, but is crotched by Ambrose. He lines up for a superplex, but Rollins reverses into a buckle bomb attempt. Ambrose fights out and delivers a Cactus Clothesline, sending both outside. A J&J distraction allows Rollins to buckle bomb Ambrose into the outside barricade.

After a two count, Rollins brings more big moves, including a flying knee and the rarely-used Paroxysm for two

Ambrose is forced into the corner where he is bad-mouthed by Rollins. More bad-mouthing, and Ambrose slaps Rollins, sending Rollins into a frenzy. Both exchange corner elbows before Ambrose delivers a big tornado DDT for two.

Ambrose goes for another leg drop, but Rollins moves out of the way and tries a flying knee. Ambrose dodges and runs into a dropkick. Ambrose then delivers his pendulum clothesline for two.

Ambrose delivers his top-rope elbow drop, but even that only gets two as J&J breathe a sigh of relief.

Ambrose lines up for Dirty Deeds, but J&J play for a distraction, allowing Rollins to go for another buckle bomb. Ambrose reverses into another big clothesline. J&J and Kane distract again, and Ambrose takes them out.

Ambrose goes for the elbow, but changes direction and hits J&J and Kane. A short brawl ensues outside and they make it back in ring, where Rollins pulls the referee in front of a flying Ambrose.

WHO?

Colby Daniel Lopez, aka Seth Rollins. Age 29. 6'1", 225 lbs. from Buffalo, Iowa, residing in Davenport, Iowa. WWE Heavyweight Champion of the World. Once led The Shield and The Age of The Fall. First ever NXT Champion. Former FCW Champion. Former ROH World Champion. Once known as Tyler Black and Taj the Destroyer. Once sold out his homies to ride with COO H and the Authority. Bratty little kid. Creepy little bastard. Traitorface. Ruiner of the WWE. Seriously, have you seen WWE's misfortunes since their chairshot heard ‘round the world? It's all Seth's fault. I also blame him for Sepp Blatter getting reelected. The man's destroying football as we know it with his corrupt bullshit. Once was engaged before some mess with a couple of naughty photos. May still be engaged. Who knows. I'm sure someone can answer that.

Jonathan Good, aka Dean Ambrose. Age 29. 6'4", 225 lbs. from Cincinnati, Ohio, resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. Former WWE United States Champion. Actually the longest reigning WWE United States Champion ever. Once known in a past life as Jon Moxley. Former CZW World Champion. Former Full Impact Pro World Champion. Thrice Heartland Wrestling Association Champion. Crazy. Deranged. Unstable. Not a known giver of fucks. Still has not forgiven Seth Rollins for ruining his life. Will tie the WWE Championship in paperwork for years if he wins. Master of titties. Dating Renee Young. Sometimes referred to as Dean Fucking Ambrose.

WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING?

Because... seriously, there's some shit that needs to be settled. Oh, and there's this other thing...

WHAT'S AT STAKE?

The WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

HISTORY

As if you need a history. But history, I will give.

June 2, 2014, 11:05pm.

For an entire year, Dean Ambrose has been on a quest to get payback on the man that ruined the best thing in WWE by miles and miles and miles. Ok, it wasn't miles and miles and miles. It just became miles and miles and miles when Daniel Bryan went down with a neck injury.

But during the time Dean was chasing Seth, Seth was chasing greatness. That summer, he won Money in the Bank. The man he last took out on his way to that briefcase: Dean Ambrose. Ambrose made a vow following that night: Seth would never see his cash in moment. While the "lunatic fringe" struggled to win on PPV (including falling on consecutive shows to Rollins), Seth was counting the days until his greatest moment of triumph.

It came at Wrestlemania 31 when during the midst of the WWE Championship, Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank. In a moment now lost to the dustbin of history due to litigation regarding concussion issues, Rollins curbstomped both Brock Lesnar and the man he chairshotted nine months earlier: the third man of the Shield, Roman Reigns. Where was the man who swore to stop him? He was incapacitated in the show's opening match by Luke Harper.

In the two months since, Rollins has played the role of bratty weasel champion to perfection, often running from fights. He ran from Brock Lesnar, a man who is surely going to kill him upon his return--which will be sooner than first anticipated. He's run from, but ultimately defeated, Randy Orton on consecutive PPVs.

But it all comes back to that one night. Old enemies--who were allies for a flicker two weeks ago--have resurfaced. It's like that sometimes when championship gold is at stake.

Dean Ambrose was gonna get one more shot, and people were going to die if he was told anything other than he got his match (not really, but then you never know. This is a man who once wrestled with light tubes, weed whackers, and chainsaws, so the man probably cannot be reasoned with). Yeah, he was taken out about two minutes after he got the match, but he got the match anyways.

Or so he thought. They had to get it in writing, of course, and as long as Dean signed the contract, he got his match. That in and of itself became a challenge and basically the A-plot on the last episode of RAW. Somewhere in this fracas, Dean accidentally knocks over a cameraman and is arrested for assault. With the challenger for the WWE Championship in handcuffs, it looked as if Seth was gonna have the weekend off.

Or was he?

Dean, of course, returns. With help. And a paddy wagon. Ambreings cleans house and Dean signs on the line that is dotted. Guess you're no longer not booked, Seth. It's good to have friends in law enforcement. And in sports entertainment.

WHO WINS?

In a perfect world, Dean Ambrose finally gets his payback that he's had coming for a long, long, long time, and what better way to do that than to take the biggest piece in Seth's life? I'm of course not talking about his fiance. Or girlfriend.

WINNER

But a perfect world, this is not. Seth Rollins retains tonight due to interference by Kane, Big Show, J&J Security, and possibly Roman Reigns. I have a sneaking suspicion Roman will have a significant say in who wins.

Kevin Owens makes his main roster debut in WWE to take on John Cena in a non-title match at tonight's (May 31, 2015) "Elimination Chamber" event from Corpus Christi, Texas on the WWE Network. Here's a preview of the action.

The match

Kevin Owens makes his WWE main roster debut in a non-title singles match against John Cena at tonight's Elimination Chamber event at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas on the WWE Network.

The players

John Cena: United States champion; Former Dr. of Thuganomics; Kind of a big deal; Boyfriend of Nikki Bella; Apple of Vince McMahon's eye; Might actually be The Terminator

Kevin Owens: NXT heavyweight champion; Killer; Dad of adorable child; Not afraid to wear pink mouse ears; Bastard who took Sami Zayn away from us; Might also be The Terminator

The story

One evening during Monday Night Raw a few weeks back, Cena issued his usual open challenge for the United States championship and, to the shock and surprise of all in attendance and the millions watching at home, Owens walked out.

But he wasn't there to answer the challenge, just to send a message. That's exactly what he did, too, cutting one hell of a promo before putting Cena down for the count with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. Then, because he could, he stomped on the US title before hoisting the NXT strap in the air.

Triumph one.

The very next week, he patiently waited for Cena to defeat Zack Ryder before rushing the ring and repeating the process. Yes, he once again stomped on the US title while holding the NXT belt in the air.

Triumph two.

He's done interviews on SmackDown, and WWE.com, and in damn near every media outlet since then to promote what could be triumph number three.

What to expect

I have no idea.

That's a major part of the appeal of the match, really. Owens has been booked to look so very strong in the weeks leading up to the match, it's hard to imagine they would simply job him out. Then again, this is John freaking Cena we're talking about here. Then again, they clearly have big plans for NXT as a touring brand and it wouldn't be the greatest idea to beat the heavyweight champion of said brand in his main roster debut match to the holder of a secondary title, even if it is John freaking Cena. Then again, how can they couldn't possibly book Owens to so thoroughly dominate one the top babyface of the past 10 years. He's no Brock Lesnar.

Or is he?

See what I mean about not having any idea? This should be fun either way.

Which team will prevail in the historic first ever tag team Elimination chamber match for the WWE Tag Team Championship this Sunday on the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view?

The Match Up:

The WWE Tag Team Champions, the New Day, must defend their titles in the first ever tag team Elimination Chamber match at the Elimination Chamber event on the WWE Network at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The five teams vying for the titles are the Prime Time Players, the Lucha Dragons, the Ascension, Los Matadores, and, the team the New Day defeated for the titles at Extreme Rules, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro.

The Road to Elimination Chamber

Following their victory at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view for the WWE Tag Team Championship, the New Day basked in the Power of Positivity (P.O.P- Hold it down) and their climb atop the tag team division. The trio not only continued their feud with the former champs, Kidd and Cesaro, but also parlayed their newfound success into a win against main eventers Randy Orton and Roman Reigns. One would think being able to get victories over solid opponents in smart and unconventional ways would earn the New Day respect amongst the WWE Universe, right?

Wait a minute. What's that the crowd is saying to the rhythm of the New Day's rallying claps?

Hmm. Perhaps this is the reason the Authority has booked this unprecedented match, which seems incredibly unfair to these beacons of absolute positivity. No matter how much Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E try to remain positive, the WWE Universe rejects them wholeheartedly. I suppose, in the Authority's mind, this match is what's best for business.

But is it really? Let's examine the other five teams that will face the New Day in the Elimination Chamber.

First, let's start with the Prime Time Players. Have they even had a match since they reformed as a team? The only exposure the WWE Universe has of Titus O'Neil and Darren Young are through those decidedly not positive backstage segments and promos against other tag teams. Is this who the WWE Universe wants representing the best of the tag team division in the WWE?

What about the Lucha Dragons? Seriously, tell me something about them. Why are they dragons? What part of Mexico do Lucha Dragons hail from? Why is Sin Cara ever the hot tag in their matches? Are they required to wear hideous neon wrestling gear now that the Usos are no longer on television? So many questions; none of them flowing with positivity.

The Ascension is obviously in this match because . . . . . they defeated the only other tag team in the WWE: the Mega Powers. And they really did a number on Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns that one time on Smackdown. And . . . there has to be six teams in the Elimination Chamber. Regardless, being a Road Warriors rip off is definitely not positive.

As for Los Matadores, I have never trusted them. I mean, how can you trust Spanish bull fighters from Puerto Rico? Not to mention they hang out with a demented little person who fancies himself to be a bull. Why would a bull be pals with a matador? Aren't they supposed to be sworn enemies? This team is definitely up to something and that is not positive.

And, don't even get me started on Tyson Kidd and Cesaro. Are you aware that these degenerates don't recycle? How can you possibly cheer for people who don't care about the planet? Oh, and they double dip. How inconsiderate is that? They have lost against the tag team champions how many times now? It's not even fair that this team is allowed in the chamber. They should be at the back of the line. That fact that this team is involved is the least positive aspect of this whole thing.

I suppose the Authority knows what is best for business. Maybe Kane just wants the New Day to eliminate all their competition in one big swoop. Yes, that has to be it. Once the New Day takes on all comers and defeats them all, the WWE Universe will buy in to the power of positivity and arenas all over the World will join in to the REAL chant . . .

NEW DAY . . ROCKS!!

NEW DAY . . ROCKS!!

NEW DAY . . ROCKS!!

The Stakes:

WWE Tag Team Championship gold. And bragging rights as the first tag team to win an Elimination Chamber match. The New Day and Tyson Kidd and Cesaro look to be the frontrunners to win this match, although the Lucha Dragons have been putting on impressive showings since their main roster debut. The Prime Time Players, The Ascension, and Los Matadores, unfortunately, look as if they are just there to fill out the match. I expect a fun match with a lot of jaw dropping spots.

Are you ready to buy in to the Power of Positivity?

Over the past few weeks, Divas Champion Nikki Bella has fended off #1 contender, Naomi. With Paige now back in the picture, can the Nikki continue her long reign as Champion? Let's break it down...

Who?

Nikki Bella (Divas Champion) - 5'6"/131 lbs.

vs.

Naomi - 5'5"/125 lbs.

vs.

Paige 5'8"/120 lbs.

How?

To understand how these three came together, we have to go back a bit. During the month of March, Naomi tore through the women's division, winning multiple matches in a row. During this run, she even got the best of Nikki Bella in multiple non-title matches. With those wins over the Divas Champion, Naomi believed she was the obvious number one contender. Instead, on April 13th, a contender would be decided by a battle royal. Paige and Naomi ended up being the final two, with Paige getting the big win. She was congratulated by a receiving a severe beat down by a suddenly disgruntled Naomi.

This attack took Paige off TV for an entire month, leaving the number one spot open, yet again. Completing her Heel turn Naomi decided to stop "waiting" and "take" her opportunity. At Extreme Rules (April 26th, 2015) she received her chance to take it. Thanks to a referee distraction -- and a kick to the head from Brie -- Nikki was able to retain her Divas Title.

On the May 4th edition of Raw, Naomi was scheduled to get some revenge against Nikki, but instead decided to bring help in the form of a returning Tamina. The two laid out the Bella Twins before the match even started.

Over the next few weeks tension grew between the two sides and a tag team match was made at Payback (May 17th, 2015). In a back-and-forth match Naomi was able to lock up the win by pinning Nikki, solidifying the newly formed team.

The next night on Raw (May 18th, 2015), Naomi received a re-match for the Divas Title. Nikki was in full control of the match when Tamina decided to end it -- via DQ -- with a superkick to Nikki's face. A returning Paige came to the ring and cleared out the villainous team, much to Nikki's appreciation. Paige then laid-out Nikki, grabbed the title and let the WWE Universe...

"This is my house!"

Why?

It's a women's feud with an actual storyline! This story can be traced back three months, complete with heel/face turns and surprise returns/alliances. You have Nikki trying to continue her 186 day reign as champ, with her sister at her side. A frustrated contender in Naomi, who brought in her cousin-in-law to even things up. In between the two sides is a former champ who simply wants to get that title back.

All three women are solid in the ring, so as long as they are given time, it should be a interesting match.

When and Where?

Exclusively on the WWE Network this Sunday (May 31st, 2015) in Corpus Christi, Texas. More specifically, this triple threat will have bodies flying all over the ring. Naomi's athleticism will be needed to combat both Nikki and Paige's power movesets. Brie and Tamina will be watching on the outside, so look for a brawl or two out of the ring.

Prediction

I'm thinking this is where the train stops for Nikki as Champion. Taking a subtle hint from the headline photo, Paige is in the middle of the picture. It's a bit strange for the Divas Champion not to be featured, no? Nikki has been a great champ, but she's becoming a bit stale, especially with the recent Face turn. Paige winning will mix things up again in the division, so I'll go with the raven-haired one on Sunday.
