Blackmail the universe with the greatest of calamities, awaken those sleeping giants in the dust of the ground. With their skin destroyed, unjust to innocence, lawful possessor of the worlds last 24 hours. Terror and ugliness reveal what death really means, and in hatred you see men as they really are. If chosen over heaven, earth will have been for them all along, only another region of hell, but me, right now I’m liveblogging another region of this here pro wrestling show, folks.

Again the pre-show opens up with Corey Graves and Peter Rosenberg at the helm.

They do the usual round of preview stuff, and Street Profits cut in with a promo about WrestleMania and how they’re gonna retain their titles.

Liv Morgan vs. Natalya

Natalya yanks a handshake into a side headlock, Morgan reverses to a cover but the vet holds onto it. Headscissors reversal, stalemate, circling, collar and elbow, arm wringer to a hammerlock to a side headlock to a go-behind into an O’Connor roll but Liv kicks out! Morgan fends off a go-behind, catches a kick but Neidhart picks her leg and falls into a deathlock.

Side headlock to reverse, folding press, back and forth, jockeying for position over the ropes and Nattie drops her with a discus lariat! Back inside, straight suplex, looking for the Romero Special, falling all the way back into full extension! Getting as much out of the hold as she can, Neidhart lets go of it, charge in the corner, sidestepped, folding press, no dice.

Liv with a forearm, Nattie stomps her instep and goes for the slingshot back suplex but Morgan gets away and hits a Codebreaker! Cover for two, dropkick to the kidneys, waistlock, standing switch, Neidhart catches her and hits a Face Eraser... NOPE! Legs picked, small package, again just a nearfall and an enzuigiri follows. Waiting for Natalya to get up, she charges in.

Nattie with an elevated waistlock, countered, exchanging pins...

Liv Morgan wins by pinfall with a victory roll.

Back to the pre-show business we go. Dolph Ziggler is shown begging Mandy Rose to forgive him on the phone, and we see Sonya Deville is there with him. They talk out their strategy when an interview rolls up and points out everybody saw the footage of Sonya texting Otis and whatnot.

Back to the panel, the WWE Backstage crew shows up at one point to talk about Orton and Edge and we make our way eventually to the end of the pre-show.

Again the main show kicks off with Stephanie McMahon welcoming us to the show and into the weird deconstruction / parody intro video.

And also again, Rob Gronkowski welcomes us to the show in his teal tiger print jacket.

Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley (c) (NXT Women’s Championship)

Circling, Flair goes behind and shoves her to make a point. Ripley charges in, but Charlotte picks her leg and jaws at her, again trying to prove her superiority. Collar and elbow, Flair turns her around into the ropes and referee Darrick Moore forces the break. Rhea gets in Charlotte’s face, the Queen shoves her back and starts laying the chops in while she recites her resume at the champion.

Ripley cuts her off in the corner, going Riptide already, only two! Flair bails, taking a breather, collecting herself, and cutting Rhea off when she gives chase. Putting boots to her under the ropes, upkicks from the apron and Ripley pulls Charlotte to the floor! Trading shots at ringside, Rhea atop the steel steps... CANNONBALL! Dropkick connects, back inside for shoulder blocks, right hands and kicks, just dominating Charlotte here.

Working her over, bodyscissors applied as she pulls at Flair’s hair! Laying in strikes, pushing her to the apron but Charlotte ducks a pump kick and kicks her leg out from under her while she’s hung up in the ropes! Working Ripley’s leg over, posting her knee into the mat over and over and the Queen follows it up by grabbing an ankle lock! Rhea refuses to give up, Flair takes her and posts her leg repeatedly!

Ripley manages to pull Charlotte into the post and get herself some separation, stumbling to her feet, and Flair pounces with a chop block! Seated sentons to the knee, Rhea reverses the third into a cover for one. The Queen stays on her, exploder attempt, float over and Ripley drops her challenger with a back suplex facebuster! Trading blows, Charlotte retaining the advantage but Rhea reverses into cravate knee strikes!

Flair uses a handful hair to counter but Ripley lands a superkick that sets up a roundhouse kick! Dropkick right on the button! Short-arm lariat, but Charlotte again kicks her leg out of her leg and Rhea goes crashing to the floor! Headed up top, Ripley meets her with a boot, climbing under her, electric chair facebuster... NOPE! Hard back elbow, Rhea lands on her feet off a back suplex but Flair staggers her with a forearm!

Hanging her foot over the middle rope, Ripley dodges and hits an elbow. Up top, slapping life back into her knee, missile dropkick connects... STILL NO! Flair with a boot, a chop block, picking the leg, stepover knee drop to the back of the knee! Upkicks, the desperation setting in, tijeras into stomps to the inner thigh and Rhea gets her elevated cloverleaf on!

Charlotte posting to her hands to alleviate the pressure, crawling for the ropes, inches away... Ripley pulls her in but she picks the leg and kicks Rhea in the face! Spinning toehold, looking for the figure four, Ripley reverses to a cover but can’t put her away! Flair grabs a Boston Crab, really leaning back in it but Rhea reverses to a rana pin! Reversals, nearfalls, no advantage!

The Queen stomping away at the bad knee, but Ripley drops her with a boot for two! Laying body blows in the corner, trading blows, setting Flair up top, climbing up after her, jockeying for position, Charlotte knocks her down with a gourdbuster! Moonsault... THE BOOTS WERE UP! Flair with her wits about her, spear... SO CLOSE! Spinning toehold, the figure four leglock is on in the middle of the ring!

Rhea screaming agony, she sits up and throws palm strike after palm strike to try and get away. Bridging back, Figure Eight, nowhere for Ripley to go...

Charlotte Flair wins by submission with the Figure Eight to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

Commentary recaps night one for us.

Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley

Jockeying for position, Black with a waistlock but Lashley slings him aside. Bob bringing his strength to bear, Aleister wrestling a circle around him but that strength proves too awesome to deny. Looking for a bear hug, Black fights out with elbows and low-bridges him to the floor! Boot to the face when he gets back to the apron, Orihara moonsault but nobody’s home and Lashley hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex!

Ramming Aleister into the barricade before bringing him back in at referee Daniel Anfibio’s count of eight. Kneeling on Black’s throat, right hand sets up a rear chinlock, throwing him into the corner, following it up with a neckbreaker, Lashley throwing the kitchen sink at him. Delayed vertical suplex, Aleister fights out but Bob lifts him right back up!

Second try, Black gets to the ropes and hangs Lashley up for a kick! Up top, nobody home, Bob with the snap scoop powerslam, only two! Raking his forearm tape across Al’s face, kick to the arm through the ropes, vertical suplex connects without the delay! Lashley lying in wait, spear countered with a knee to the face! Cover for two, strike rush, off the ropes, sliding knee sends Bob to the floor!

Orihara moonsault connects this time, back inside, Lashley with a crossbody, a lariat, folding press for two and he follows it up with mounted punches to the face. Up on his shoulder, Lana gets on the apron to correct his strategy and Bob changes gears to the spear... BLACK COUNTERS WITH BLACK MASS! IT’S OVER!

Aleister Black wins by pinfall with Black Mass.

Bayley and Sasha Banks are interviewed backstage, mostly a vehicle for Bayley to complain about being put into a five-way but also for Banks to sow a little intrigue about her being in the match.

We get a recap of yesterday’s 24/7 Championship material and then Rob Gronkowski is interviewed.

He says he wouldn’t mind winning the title by the end of the tonight.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Otis Dozovic

Otis right on him, ramming Zigger into the corner but a third try gets the sidestep. Superkick connects, Dozer to the floor, Dolph pressing the attack, throwing him into the post and screaming in his face before throwing him back into the ring. Cover for one, side headlock, a dropkick follows it up and Otis collapses but is able to kick out.

Rear chinlock with bodyscissors, Dozovic struggling but he’s able to get on his hands and knees and to his feet. Body blows, Ziggler with kicks, dropkick countered into a catapult that sends him into the turnbuckles! Dozer bringing the fight to Dolph in a big way before slamming him over the ropes and to the floor! Following out after him, Ziggler begging off but the big man throws him hard into the barricade!

Back inside, World’s Strongest Slam, Dozer fired up and calling for it... but Sonya Deville runs interference on the apron and he can’t get the Caterpillar! Dolph with a low blow while referee Charles Robinson was distracted! Mandy Rose comes to ringside, attacking Deville and hitting a low blow on Ziggler to even the odds! Dozovic has him... CATERPILLAR! IT’S OVER!

Otis Dozovic wins by pinfall with the Caterpillar.

Post-match, Mandy hugs Dozer and raises his arm in victory. Otis sweeps her off her feet and she kisses him.

Edge vs. Randy Orton (Last Man Standing Match)

Orton with an RKO outta nowhere before his entrance is even through! He was disguised as a camera man! Edge gets to his feet and we get a bell!

A right hand, but Randy is faster... RKO! Edge up and out of the ring at nine! Orton with a camera and he smashes Edge over the barricade with it! Brawling back to the workout machines, the Viper briefly grabs for a chain but decides to just keep beating on Edge manually. Choking him in some hanging loops, right hands, finally Edge gets the upper hand and throws him into some exercise equipment!

Beating Orton down over a table, seating him in an office chair, clubbing away, he takes a step back and jumps up onto the framework to hit a seated senton! Both men down and up before seven, Edge with more gas in the tank, yelling at him about how it’s been nine years. Whip reversed hard into a metal wall, Randy gets a cart and tries to ram him but Edge gets out of the way!

Beating on him even more, smashing the Viper into a road case! Randy brawls him into a red light zone but Edge is able to throw him into a corrugated metal door for another count! Fighting up onto the ringside stage, jockeying for position and Orton is able to throw Edge neck-first into the barricade! Beating the count, more brawling around the ringside area, back behind a curtain again and into a hallway.

Fighting deeper into the Performance Center, Orton in control as they head into a conference room and they take turns smashing each other’s face into a table! Randy slow to his feet, Edge throws him over the table before climbing up after him and tentatively pulling at some chain link on the ceiling... AND USING IT TO FACILITATE AN ELBOW DROP!

Brawling through the hallway again, Orton with a rake of the eye and the tide turns in his favor again. He smashes Edge’s face into a framed poster and a camera man goes ass over teakettle! We lose sight of them brawling for a moment and they fight back into a storage area. Trading right hands, Putting Randy into a ladder and he staggers away, holding an injured left arm close to his body.

Knee cuts the Rated R Superstar off, smashing him into a road case, Edge gets a chair in hand but Orton cuts him off and throws the chairs away. He puts Edge face-first into some steel steps that are laying around and waits for the count... NOPE! Randy pressing the attack, pouring water all over himself, Edge throws a sandbag at his knee and is able to get a few good shots in!

Both men slow to rise, Edge in control, right hands over a road case and a knee lift on top of a table. Axehandles, Edge climbs a ladder to the top of some scaffolding... ELBOW DROP THROUGH A TABLE! Both men up to beat the count, Randy bleeding from his back as he lays strikes in, uppercuts, over to the tailgate of a handy truck to smash his face into it a bunch.

Edge beating the count, Orton attacking him on the truck, putting him on the bed cover, giving chase... HANGING DDT ON THE TRUCK! Again, no finish on the count as Edge climbs up some road cases and atop a nearby trailer and collects himself a moment. Randy following, joining him atop the trailer... SPEAR! Edge to his feet at eight, Orton at nine... SPEAR COUNTERED INTO THE RKO!

The Rated R Superstar barely beats the count and the Viper brings some chairs up atop the trailer to beat on him with. Edge gets up and slaps the head and arm triangle on him! Randy fades, Edge lets go of the hold with his head on a chair, he cuts the count off... CON-CHAIR-TO!

Edge wins when Randy Orton fails to answer a standing ten count.

The 24/7 Championship scene comes charging down through the ringside area. About a dozen guys brawling in close quarters under the balcony in just a blatant violation of social distancing guidelines, Gronk dives...

Rob Gronkowski wins the WWE 24/7 Championship.

Angel Garza & Austin Theory vs. Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) (c) (WWE Raw Tag Team Championship)

Dawkins and Theory to start, Angelo with a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block. Leapfrog, shoulder block, Ford tags in, double teams as the match breaks down and we get stereo dropkicks. Armbar from Montez, quick tags, Austin regaining control and sending Dawkins to the floor where Garza hits a cheap shot. Tag in, dropkick, and now it’s the heels cutting the ring in half.

Ford gets the tag and comes in hot with lariats, whip reversed, leaping lariat into a standing moonsault... NOPE! Austin breaks up the next cover and brawls with Dawkins, dropkick sends him out of the ring, Montez off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO! Garza takes the champs out with an Orihara moonsault! Back inside, dragging Ford into position, quebrada gets two!

Underhooks, Wing Clipper denied and Montez hits an enzuigiri! Tags made, superkick sets up the TKO for Theory but Ford breaks it up...

Street Profits win by pinfall with the diving splash from Montez Ford on Austin Theory.

Post-match, Theory and Garza beat the champs down and Zelina Vega gets into the act, too! BIANCA BELAIR MAKES THE SAVE AND BEATS VEGA DOWN! The Profits rally... KO-D ON ZELINA!

Titus O’Neil appears on the balcony and says that Gronk is gone so he’s gonna host the rest of the show.

Bayley (c) vs. Lacey Evans vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks vs. Tamina (WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Elimination Match)

Bayley and Sasha teaming up on Tamina right away, she shrugs them off and then the same for Lacey and Naomi! All four women beating her down, Snuka throws them off, right hands for everbody, back elbow for Evans! Naomi hanging onto her leg, Tamina smashing her face into the mat, stereo dropkicks from Boss and Hug! Sending Snuka to the floor, the champ and her pal pair off with our two babyfaces, brawling.

Lacey with a whip into the corner, Banks up and over, corner headscissors puts her face-first and Bayley hits a running knee for two! Double whip into double hip toss, Naomi breaks it up with a baseball slide and she and Evans take out our heels together! Dropkicks, covers... NOPE! Bayley and Banks out to the floor, Lacey and Naomi circle and shake hands, small package, only two.

Tamina in, double lariat runs them both over, a biel puts Sasha into the corner, Bayley makes the save but gets knocked to the floor all the same! Evans looking for a schoolboy, she gets bieled across the ring, Snuka catches a kick from Naomi and biels her too! Stacked up in the corner, running hip attack into a one-foot cover on Sasha... NOPE! Ditto Naomi, ditto Lacey, lateral press on the champ can’t put her away!

Snuka with a fireman’s carry, Sasha saves her buddy but Naomi hits a running enzuigiri! Banks with a kick, Tamina with a superkick, the former Team BAD are in the ring together staring each other down! Snuka puts her fist out, Sasha adds hers, as does Tamina, they seem united but Snuka takes the Boss out with a superkick! Naomi jockeying for position, split-leg stunner... NOPE!

Standing moonsault, double cover but Tamina kicks out! Bayely up top, diving elbow, the Boss follows it up with a frog splash, Evans with a moonsault of her own, Naomi finishes the pattern and everybody makes the cover...

Tamina is eliminated by pinfall with the split-legged moonsault from Naomi.

Baseball slides from our babyfaces, planchas follow but Bayley sidesteps Lacey and puts her into the steel steps before flapjacking Naomi into the apron! Smashing her face into the apron again, cover for two. Putting boots to Naomi in the corner, choking her, Banks joins her for double-teams, grinding Naomi down in the corner. Knees sidestepped, Naomi goes to the apron, kick and a shoulder thrust, slingshot sunset flip on both of ‘em but they kick out!

Off the ropes, sliding slaps, drawing the champion up, putting her off the ropes, la casadora into the split-leg stunner! Leg lariat on Sasha, duck a lariat, springboard roundhouse kick and Naomi’s running hot! Full nelson bomb... BANKS KICKS OUT BUT SHE GRABS THE SPIDER TWIST! BAYLEY MAKES THE SAVE WITH A WICKED KNEE TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD!

Lungblower...

Naomi is eliminated by submission with the Bank Statement from Sasha Banks.

Boss and Hug calling for Lacey to get back in the ring so they can finish her off, she’s slow and staggered but she makes her way back in and they pounce! Corner kick, stomps, double whip, double hip toss into a double powerbomb, double cover... NO DICE! Malfunction at the junction, Bayley with a hard knee to Banks, Evans with a small package for two, crucifix for two, schoolboy, champ rolls through and hits a knee for a nearfall of her own!

Raining punches down, Sasha pulls her off and they bicker... WOMAN’S RIGHT ON THE BOSS!

Sasha Banks is eliminated by pinfall with the Woman’s Right from Lacey Evans.

Charging in, short-arm kicks to the midsection give way to an axe kick, senton de la muerte in the corner and Lacey climbs up top. Clutching her wrist, she salutes, double jump into the moonsault... SO CLOSE! Sasha comes back in the match and hits a lungblower, Bayley is ready...

Bayley wins, last eliminating Lacey Evans by pinfall with the Stroke to retain the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Post-match, Sasha puts the title around a grateful Bayley’s waist and the friends stand tall together.

We get a hype reel for next year’s WrestleMania, currently scheduled to take place in Los Angeles.

Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena (Firefly Fun House Match)

John Cena gets cut off partway through his entrance by some creepy warped WrestleMania footage and the Firefly Fun House intro.

Bray Wyatt appears and says there’s another world just beyond our comprehension, where gods, monsters, demons, and angels are neighbors. Who are we, really, and why do we do the things that we do? He wants to take a real deep look at who John really is, and he’s about to face his most dangerous opponent— himself. He walks through a door that reads “abandon all hope ye who exit here”, and Cena appears where he stood moments before.

John looks around confused when Rambling Rabbit pops up to greet him. He tells him Bray went through the door and Cena walks through it. He exits into a darkened room and considers his situation briefly before the devil Vince puppet pops up next to him! Puppet Vince pokes him in the arm and blathers about ruthless aggression and tells him to show him or he’s fired.

Wyatt stands in a ring and cuts the promo Kurt Angle cut the night Cena debuted, and John comes out wearing his debut gear! He and Bray reenact his debut before Wyatt leaves the script and starts ducking his hands. He calls this Cena’s greatest failure and says he can see why he almost got fired before singing a little bit of Nikki Bella’s theme song asn asking him if this is really what he wants to do with his life.

They leave the ring and Macho Mercy is on commentary with Devil Vince as we get the old Saturday Night’s Main Event intro and Bray starts cutting a promo from behind the old blue steel cage about his tag partner Johnny Largemeat. Cena, er, Largemeat comes out curling two weights and spitting a bunch of classic promo cliches from Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior.

Curling with a fever while Bray looks on, he drops the weights and starts having some kind of spasm. Bray asks him what he’s gonna do when he realizes egomania has been running wild on him, and he throws Cena off screen and back into the Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick! Cena gets in the ring and raps about how the audience just went from six to midnight and Bray ain’t taking away his limelight.

Unlike Husky Harris, it’s a weight that he can manage, and he’s got a great idea of his puppet show— his junk in a glove, you can call him Mr. Suck It, bro. He calls Bray a slut for opportunity, blowing every chance. Bray asks how dare he talk about chances and he continues to run him down for sacrificing everything to become the man. This is his last chance, the floor is his.

Cena tells him all he’s gonna get is these nuts in his face, and Bray drops him with a hard right hand. Cut to an old-school Bray Wyatt vignettes, with him in the rocking chair and talking about how Sister Abigail prepared him for this moment. He tells John that the fans wanted him and needed him, and WrestleMania 30 was supposed to be a prophecy fulfilled, but instead it was his greatest failure.

Now it’s time to rewrite his own story, run. Corner body avalanche, dancing Cena’s unconscious body around the ring, kiss his forehead but he stops short of Sister Abigail and says we all know that’s not enough to end it, but a steel chair is. Six years ago, Cena made the wrong choice, and Bray gets on his knees and asks him to fix it... CENA SWINGS THE CHAIR BUT WYATT DISAPPEARS!

We get the WCW Monday Nitro intro and Bray is in the ring in nWo Wolfpac colors talking, ala Eric Bischoff, how he wants to introduce the coolest guyu in wrestling... John Cena. John comes out decked out like Hollywood Hogan, spraypainted belt and all. They Too Sweet and John attacks, beating Bray down... but eventually all the WCW trappings melt away and he’s beating up Huskus the Pig!

The Fiend appears behind Cena and he rises, slowly dawning on himself what’s happening. MANDIBLE CLAW! We hear Cena’s promo vowing to end Bray before he hits Sister Abigail and reapplies the mandible claw! He chokes John as Funhouse Bray counts the pin...

Bray Wyatt wins by pinfall with the mandible claw, I guess?

Cena disappears. The Fiend stands tall and asks us to let him in.

Corey Graves and Peter Rosenberg are helming the pre-show.

Cesaro vs. Drew Gulak

Gulak in, go-behind to a wristlock, taking him down, side headlock, shot off but he gets a boot up in the corner. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Cesaro gets a shockingly deep two, trying for the Neutralizer but Drew reverses to a Fujiwara Armbar. Roll into a cross armbar but Cesaro posts to his feet into a deadlift one-arm powerbomb! Shaking his arm out, trying for the Neutralizer again but Gulak reverses to an arm-trap crossface!

Cesaro crawling and desperate, he gets a foot on the rope and referee Drake Wuertz calls for the break! Drew dumps him over the ropes and to the floor, taking his time to follow out after the Swiss Superman and dropping him with a diving lariat off the apron! Cesaro with a right hand, back inside, arm still bugging him and Gulak snaps his arm over the top rope before clotheslining him to the floor again!

Following after, diving off the apron into an arm drag! Throw him into the steel steps, back inside, Drew up top, diving... SWISS DEATH! Cover for two, Drew reverses into his own nearfall and then back into the Fujiwara Armbar but Cesaro gets to his feet. Cover from Gulak, only two, looking for the Gu-Lock but Cesaro reverses to a tilt-a-whirl slam and follows it with a pump kick!

Neutralizer denied, arm too weak, Drew stops himself short of running into Wuertz and Cesaro capitalizes into an Argentine backbreaker rack and starts spinning... NO HANDS! UFO! IT’S OVER!

Cesaro wins by pinfall with the UFO.

Back to the pre-show business, King Baron Corbin is interviewed.

He’s sorry he didn’t throw a road case on Elias and he’s a man of tradition— he ended Kurt Angle’s career last year and he’ll end Elias’ this year. He even wrote a song to celebrate, which he plays (poorly) on harmonica.

More pre-show business, they cede the floor to the WWE Backstage crew (who are Skyping in) for a minute.

The main show kicks off with Stephanie McMahon talking about how different this year’s WrestleMania is than usual and how they’re committed to somehow, some way provide us with a diversion in these hard times.

We get a video medley of WrestleMania performances of America the Beautiful over the years.

A pirate-themed intro video hyping the show up as a battle for the ages follows. Partway through it becomes kind of a weird deconstruction / parody of over-dramatic hype reels and eventually segues into For Those About to Rock.

Rob Gronkowski welcomes us to the show wearing a teal tiger print jacket and wraparound shades, so that’s where we’re at on that front. He talks about how he knows how to start a party on a Saturday night and end it 30 hours later and calls his good friend Mojo Rawley out to join him.

Mojo is wearing a giant necklace with his name on it and a white blazer with zebra print lapels, so he fits right in. He asks Gronk to chop him a bunch and we get into it.

Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross vs. Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) (c) (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship)

Asuka and Bliss to start, champ ducks a lariat and poses before tagging right out. Sane in, palm strikes, knocking Alexa down, jawing at her and Bliss fires off a hard right hand of her own! Goozle, noogie... NODOWA OTOSHI! Double knees into a tag, Cross with a cover for two, go-behind into a sleeper hold, Kairi backs her into the corner and tags Asuka in.

The Empress of Tomorrow putting boots to her, Nikki with desperation forearms and Alexa tags herself in. Cross dumps Asuka to the floor, cuts Sane off and trips her on the apron into repeated clubbing blows. Bliss with a baseball slide, cannonball off the apron! Break the count, Nikki with a crossbody! Challengers hugging it out, Alexa pulls Asuka back in for a cover that gets two.

Arm wringer, tag to Cross, diving double axehandle connects. Arm wringer, Asuka with a forearm and the tag. Nikki dumps Kairi to the floor, slingshot dropkick caught and Sane hammers her with hard overhand chops! Match breaking down, all four women on the floor and brawling, Kairi snaps off a headscissors and Asuka drops Cross with a roundhouse kick after!

Back inside, the Empress putting boots to her, taunting Alexa, buzzsaw roundhouse and the tag. Sane working her over, but Nikki gets away and makes the tag. Bliss in hot, right hand into a dropkick, fired up, charging in but Kairi slips to the apron. Alexa with a forearm, headed up top, Asuka running interference. Bliss in the Tree of Woe, Sane up top... DIVING DOUBLE STOMP!

Cover for two, trading kicks, sliding forearm in the corner, tag to Asuka. Pressing the attack, working her over, hip attack in the corner. Bulldog countered but Bliss runs right into the Alarm Clock! Tags made, Cross in hot with forearms to drop Sane. Fired up, Stinger Splash sets up the running bulldog and she tears her jacket open! Nikki up top, diving crossbody for two!

Kairi with a rake of the eyes, charging in, back body drop to the apron but Asuka tagged in and she cuts Cross off. Right hands, Nikki fires back with kicks, fisherman neckbreaker... SANE BREAKS IT UP WITH THE DIVING ELBOW! Rolling around, Asuka Lock applied, rolling Cross onto her belly... TWISTED BLISS BREAKS IT UP! SPEAR FROM KAIRI!

All four women down and out, Asuka with a Codebreaker, Kairi up top but Nikki cuts her off. Jockeying for position, Asuka gets her up for a powerbomb... DOOMSDAY DEVICE BUT IT’S NOT ENOUGH! Kairi with a strike rush, Cross gets a kick and the fisherman neckbreaker. Tag to Alexa, off the top...

Sami Zayn is interviewed backstage with his boys Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura in tow as usual.

He talks about how everybody thought Braun Strowman retaining was a foregone conclusion, but who’s standing here as Intercontinental Champion? Sami Zayn, that’s who. Everybody wants to see Daniel Bryan shut his mouth, but there’s nothing inevitable about it, and he’s gonna win.

We see Shayna Baszler shadowboxing backstage.

King Baron Corbin makes his entrance and cuts a promo saying Elias is nowhere to be found, which gets a replay of his attack by way of explanation. That felt good, he says, but what’ll be even better is getting his second WrestleMania win, and he asks referee Jessika Carr to count him out and give him the win by forfeit.

Elias is here, of course. They brawl on the stage... EL KABONG! Smashing Corbin’s face into the apron over and over again, putting him into the ring and Carr checks on Baron to see if he’s good to fight...

King Baron Corbin vs. Elias

Elias charging in at the bell, beating Baron down, whip across, hard back elbow for one. Chops, forearms, Corbin hip tosses him over the ropes and to the floor and takes a breather. Back inside, whipping the Drifter into the turnbuckles, out and back in, cutting his head off with a lariat! Overhead elbows to the bad shoulder, jawing and Elias is able to get back into it with body blows before getting posted shoulder-first.

Cover for two, yelling at referee Jessika Carr over her count, overhead elbows resume as Baron yells at the commentary team. Posting Corbin in return, boots up in the corner, lighting him up with punches, tearing his own shirt off and putting boots to Baron in turn. DDT gets two, Deep Six in return, also just a two count. Out and back in, Elias with a big knee strike, again just two!

Jockeying for position, Elias takes advantage...

Elias wins by pinfall with a small package and a handful of tights.

DIVING SPLASH ON MORRISON! Jockeying for position, Kingston inside the ladder and Uso outside, knocking Jimmy down, Kofi grabs the titles but John is right there to meet him! Kingston with a diving stomp to take Morrison out!

Uso takes Kofi out in turn, John parkouring over a ladder and right into a superkick from Jimmy! Back and forth, Morrison climbing the ladder, he’s got the titles in hand but Kofi climbs up and cuts him off! Uso into the fray as well, all three men with hands on the titles, they unclip them all at once, jockeying for postion atop the ladder, Jimmy with headbutts and Morrison falls down with the titles...

Rollins taunting and begging off, right hand, duck a lariat, firing off punches and bailing to the floor. Owens with punches, smashing Seth’s face into the barricade but he gets a knee off and returns to the ring. Blackout denied, right hand from the apron, and KO takes control. Off the ropes, Rollins with a front kick but Owens drops him and hits a pair of sentons.

Seth to the floor to dodge the cannonball, clutching his ribs, and Kev follows after for a big chop. Taking him around the ringside area, throwing him into the barricade, resetting the count and jawing at the Monday Night Messiah. Back inside, Rollins tries to get away but Owens is right on him, drawing him up and going for a powerbomb. Countered into a back body drop on the apron... FALCON ARROW ON THE APRON!

Seth jawing at Kev while he tries to rise, off the ropes, suicide dive takes him out! Back inside, another dive, jawing at him, bringing up his kids, a third dive is cut off with a forearm! Sling Blade follows it up, raining forearms down, kicks to the back, jawing at him yet more. Off the ropes, Blackout denied, again, kick to the gut, DDT spikes Rollins right on his dome!

Superkick in the corner, cannonball connects, KO up top... SENTON ATOMICO GETS A NEARFALL! Jockeying for position, ducking and dodging, Rollins gets an enzuigiri and Owens returns the favor with a lariat!
AJ Styles vs. the Undertaker (Boneyard Match)

Camera pans across gravestones as a hearse drives through the cemetery gates. Druids get out of the hearse and open the back door, pulling a coffin out... AND AJ STYLES IS INSIDE! The Undertaker rolls up on a motorcycle to the tune of Now That We’re Dead by Metallica— BIG EVIL IS BACK! AJ tells him he dug a grave for him and they jaw at each other.

Styles picks up a brick but Taker nails him with those carcinogenic fists! AJ scrabbles away but Big Evil smashes him into the coffin a few times! Undertaker punches through a window and gashes his arm open, giving Styles an opening to stagger him with a few shots, but the Deadman throws him into the windshield of the hearse! AJ crawls away while Taker jaws at him, trading shots.

Mounted punches from the Undertaker, yelling at him to never talk about his wife again and telling him if he wants more, he’s got a lot of more. Styles gets a handful of grave dirt and throws it in Taker’s eyes! Punching away, kick to the gentleman’s area, AJ tells him to get in his grave and keeps nailing him with forearms, but Big Evil refuses to go down!

Drawing him up, the Deadman knocks Styles into the grave! He asks him how it feels, and Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows show up to tell him they’re just getting started! The barn lights up behind them and a bunch of druids step out to surround the Undertaker! Taker is game to fight and starts laying druids out with forearms and boots when Gallows and Anderson attack!

Beating the Deadman down, putting boots to him, raining right hands, Gallows tells Anderson to get the shovel but Taker boots him aside! Right hands, kicks to the midsection, Big Evil grabs the shovel and whatcks them both with it only for AJ to attack from behind with something that shatters over Taker’s back! Falling punch to the face, mounted punches, but Styles breaks his finger on the Deadman’s skull!

He tells Undertaker to stay down and give up and let him bury him, but he gets to his feet... AND STYLES RUNS HIM THROUGH A BARN WALL! Taker wheezing and gasping, AJ craws out of the wreckage and gathers his wits about him as the old man tries to sit up. Styles continues to run the Phenom down as he sits up and flips him the bird. AJ grabs a shovel and says he’s doing the world a favor by burying him, right here and right now.

He nails Undertaker in the back with the shovel and knocks him into the grave! A handful of grave dirt in his hand, he dumps it on the dead man and solemnly intones “ashes to ashes, dust to dust” before getting in a nearby tractor and starting it up. HOLY SHIT UNDERTAKER IS BEHIND HIM SOMEHOW! RAINING PUNCHES TO THE BACK, AN EERIE LIGHT BEHIND HIM!

He knocks AJ off the tractor and stalks after him, telling him he can’t run even as Styles climbs a ladder! He tells him he can run but he can’t hide, and he again talks about his unholy trinity, climbing on the roof after him. TAKER RAISES HIS HANDS AND FLAMES SHOOT OUT OF THE ROOF ALL AROUND AJ! A BIG BOOT TAKES HIM OFF HIS FEET AND HE WALLOPS GALLOWS AND ANDERSON WHEN THEY TRY TO SAVE THEIR PAL! HE THROWS GALLOWS OFF THE ROOF AND TOMBSTONES ANDERSON!

Styles, disbelieving, says he had him dead and buried as he throws punches, but Taker goozles him! This is what he asked for, he says... AND HE CHOKESLAMS AJ OFF THE ROOF! Undertaker heads down after him and asks Styles if he remembers his wife’s name or how old he is now. He scoops AJ up and carries him over to the grave, telling him he’s a lot tougher than he gave him credit for before dumping him on the ground at the edge of the grave.

The Phenomenal One apologizes and Taker asks him what he’s sorry for, telling him to go out like a man. He gently strokes AJ’s hair and tells him he gave a hell of a fight and he’s not gonna bury him. Undertaker brings him in for a hug and tells him a lot of people ain’t giving him that fight before turning and booting him into the grave!

Taker starts the tractor up and dumps the grave dirt out on Styles. He pulls a cover off the gravestone and it reveals that it’s AJ’s grave, and the camera pans down to his hand sticking out of the dirt.

Undertaker wins by burying AJ Styles alive.

Taker collects his bandana and sits on his bike. He puts the bandana back on and throws his hand up, leading to more flames shooting out of the roof and his symbol appearing in lasers on the wall.

Metallica plays again.

Firefly Fun House Match

John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt’s career on WWE’s main roster began in mid 2013 and he achieved great success right away, with big wins on pay-per-view over stars like Kane, Daniel Bryan, and even The Shield. He was pretty much unstoppable. But then he ran into CenaWinsLOL at WrestleMania 30 in 2014, and it all came crashing down.

Wyatt has always been a tortured soul, and Cena has been at the heart of a lot of his anguish. Besides losing that WrestleMania match and his feud with Cena in 2014, Wyatt was also the sap who Cena abused in order to recover from a devastating SummerSlam 2014 loss to Brock Lesnar; Cena gave the entire Wyatt family an Attitude Adjustment on Raw to remind the world that he was still a top star. Then there was WrestleMania 32 in 2016, where Wyatt and his family were humiliated and beat up by John Cena & The Rock. The recurring theme is that Cena has been a notable pain in Wyatt’s ass, especially on the biggest wrestling event of the year.

The frustrations and failures mounted so severely for Wyatt that he disappeared for a good chunk of 2018 and 2019. He eventually returned with a demented Fun House that he would use to heal himself, and a horrifying Fiend that he would use to hurt others.

The years have gone by and Cena is now a part-timer in 2020, the exact kind of guy he used to complain about back in 2012 when he was feuding with The Rock. With WrestleMania 36 right around the corner, Cena returned to WWE on the Feb. 28 episode of SmackDown to announce that he was going to do the right thing and not take a more deserving star’s spot away at WrestleMania. Cena was taking the high road and sitting this one out.

Then he changed his mind like a minute later.

That’s because The Fiend showed up. Wyatt was fresh off losing his Universal championship to Goldberg the night before at Super ShowDown, a result that was surely a harbinger of good things to come in WWE. The big scary monster pointed at the WrestleMania sign, and Cena accepted his challenge.

One week later on his Firefly Fun House, Wyatt explained that Cena’s victory over him at WrestleMania 30 sent him into a pathetic downward spiral. If it wasn’t for Cena, the Fun House wouldn’t exist, so he thanked John for that and forgave him. The catch though is that Cena also helped create The Fiend, who is built on pain and vengeance. The Fiend will be waiting at WrestleMania, and unlike Bray, The Fiend is not so forgiving.

Cena appeared on the Mar. 13 episode of SmackDown to explain why he accepted the match. He talked about the importance of WWE investing in the future. Bray Wyatt’s longstanding attitude of blaming others for his shortcomings has worn out its welcome and is not part of that future. So Cena plans to take Wyatt out of the picture for good at WrestleMania 36, because Wyatt is the most over-hyped and overvalued superstar in the company. He is not worthy enough to be part of WWE’s promising future.

Bray confronted John and laughed at the idea that John cares about the future of WWE. All John cares about is himself, and it doesn’t matter who he has to bury in order to get what he wants. Cena broke him six years ago, but now he’s built back together, and it’s time to smash Cena’s brain into a million little pieces. WrestleMania 36 is going to be a slaughter, Cena just doesn’t know it yet.

One week after that, Bray Wyatt threw a rabbit into a blender and drank it down with a smile on his face. He then challenged Cena to a Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36. Cena took a week to think about it, and then responded by comparing The Fiend to a global pandemic, full of uncertainty and preying on fear. Naturally, Wyatt appeared out of nowhere in an attempt to spook Cena.

The Firefly Fun House puppets said that John Cena was going to play with them forever after WrestleMania, so maybe a new Cena-themed puppet will be joining the gang soon?

I don’t know about that, but I do know that the taped nature of this match allows for additional creativity, possibly in the form of John Cena being ripped apart by demented puppets in the middle of a Fun House.

The bottom line is that the Fiend’s existence is driven by the need for vengeance from six years ago, and part-timer John Cena is in way over his head this time. If he’s not scared, he should be.

Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report.

In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included Tamina dominating the SmackDown women, Becky Lynch watching a 45 minute match in the middle of her promo, and some very important updates on Elias, a lot of fortunes were changed.

With that in mind, let’s see whose stock has increased the most this week:

Stock Up #3: John Cena & Bray Wyatt

Cena and Wyatt have told a good story on the way to their Firefly Fun House match at WrestleMania 36, and this week’s (Apr. 3) go-home angle was particularly effective. Cena compared The Fiend to a global pandemic, Wyatt’s puppets delivered some creepy lines, and then we got ourselves a jump scare.

Stock Up #2: Everyone involved in the Otis/Mandy story

We finally got the big reveal that Sonya Deville and Dolph Ziggler conspired to sabotage Mandy’s date on Valentine’s Day with Otis, and now the foundation is there for a special Macho Man / Elizabeth type moment between Otis and Mandy at WrestleMania 36.

Stock Up #1: Undertaker, Edge, Kevin Owens, Paul Heyman

These four performers all delivered killer go-home promos on Raw this week (Mar. 30). It’s too bad that WrestleMania 36 is taped show with no live audience, because the amount of hype that these four stars added to their respective matches was extremely impressive. Undertaker might have delivered his best promo in years when he promised to make AJ Styles famous in a boneyard.

Now let’s see whose stock has decreased the most this week:

Stock Down #3: Andrade

Andrade was replaced on the WrestleMania 36 card due to injury. It’s startling just how infrequently Andrade has found his way onto pay-per-view cards in WWE considering he’s generally pushed well on television.

Stock Down #2: Drew McIntyre

McIntyre has been almost a complete non-factor on these empty venue Raw episodes, which is not ideal for someone who could very well be wrestling in the main event on Sunday night.

The lack of a live audience has really put Drew in an unfortunate situation as far as his WrestleMania 36 booking is concerned. Beating Lesnar in front of zero people isn’t exactly going to come off like a career-defining WrestleMania moment that will rank up there with Stone Cold and Daniel Bryan. But Paul Heyman made it very clear that Drew will just be “Brock’s bitch” when he loses, so that’s not really a viable option. Maybe WWE will book a smoz or DQ finish to stall, but then the match very likely won’t main event the card in that case.

Stock Down #1: Goldberg & Braun Strowman

We’re a fan blog here at Cageside Seats, where everyone from staff to community members are all just fans giving their opinions on what they see. Sometimes that will involve WWE receiving criticism for their decision-making, and when that happens there is usually some pushback from others who think the people who criticize WWE are being toxic haters who have some kind of agenda. It’s of course a silly conclusion to make; criticism and hate are very different things, and it’s easy to tell the difference.

In this particular case, WWE received sharp criticism from many fans after the Mar. 27 episode of SmackDown ended with WWE falsely advertising Roman Reigns as Goldberg’s opponent for WrestleMania 36. This was met with some resistance from others who said WWE still had one final episode of SmackDown to run an angle where Braun Strowman gets the spot, or at least offer an explanation of the change.

With that in mind, WWE had over a week to figure out how to move Strowman into Reigns’ spot on the card. Even after Reigns confirmed his absence from WrestleMania 36 on Instagram, WWE went ahead with falsely advertising Goldberg vs. Reigns. Triple H acknowledged Roman’s situation in an interview and then said it would be handled in a unique manner.

That unique way turned out to be completely ignoring Roman Reigns. That unique way turned out to be not explaining a damn thing. That unique way turned out to be Michael Cole just running down the lineup of WrestleMania 36 and saying that Goldberg is facing Braun Strowman. WWE gave no explanation for why the main event of WrestleMania was changed. They didn’t create any angle or story behind the change. Instead they decided to treat their fans like stupid morons and pretend like nothing happened.

Goldberg and Braun Strowman now have a Universal championship match at WrestleMania 36 that has just as much of a story behind it as Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley. Goldberg and Strowman have both been put in a bad spot here by WWE.

If this is all it was ever going to be, WWE could have made this announcement as soon as the news broke that Reigns pulled out. There was time for Goldberg and Strowman to tape some remote promos that could have aired on SmackDown or social media during the week. Instead WWE blatantly went ahead with false advertising for over a week, shamelessly deceiving their fanbase.

Crap like this is why WWE often deserves the criticism they get, and crap like this is why they don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt.

There you have it, Cagesiders. Whose stock do you think has changed the most this week?

Miz is out of the Triple Threat ladder match for the SmackDown Tag Team titles, and as a result, so are Big E and Jey Uso. John Morrison will now defend the belts against Kofi Kingston and Jimmy Uso.

As the tweet mentions, they’re explaining the change by saying Miz was injured in the brawl between the three teams on last night’s show. This is from WWE.com’s new write-up for the match:

“However, that all changed on the final SmackDown before WrestleMania. As first announced on WWE’s The Bump just hours before The Showcase of The Immortals, The Miz had been injured during the all-out melee on the blue brand. It was therefore determined that the previously announced SmackDown Tag Team Title Match would be transformed into a singles Triple Threat Ladder Match with John Morrison, Jimmy Uso and Kofi Kingston representing their teams in what is sure to be an all-out, free-for-all.”

The injury story for Miz is more of an explanation than we got for Braun Strowman replacing Reigns in the Universal title match.
