<h3>The match</h3>
<p>Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose in a triple threat match in the main event of tonight's (Sun., Feb. 21, 2016) <i>Fastlane</i> pay-per-view (PPV) at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The winner earns a WWE world heavyweight championship match against Triple H in the main event of <i>WrestleMania 32</i>.</p>
<h3>The players</h3>
<p><b>Brock Lesnar</b>: It is said that upon looking at his creation, Paul Heyman remarked "And now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."</p>
<p><b>Roman Reigns</b>: When talent meets genetics.</p>
<p><b>Dean Ambrose</b>: A fighter molded from an unbreakable will.</p>
<h3>The story</h3>
<p>It's kind of dumb, really, or at least how it started is kind of dumb. The Authority just decided one night to put these three together in a ring with everything on the line.</p>
<p>Looking back, though, the idea seems clear: They want to break the unbreakable bond between Reigns and Ambrose, brothers who have had each other's backs from day one. That bond was strengthened when Seth Rollins sold his soul to Triple H. They were united against a common enemy.</p>
<p>Now, the enemy is their own desire for glory.</p>
<p>That's the pitch from the manipulators. Reigns and Ambrose have maintained it's no problem, they'll simply compete when the time comes and shake hands after. Loser buys the beers, to the victor go the spoils and all that. They've been tested for weeks, however, and it's unclear if it's finally gotten to them. It looked like it could go either way in their most recent encounter on <i>SmackDown</i> just days ago.</p>
<p>That Lesnar is involved adds a layer of unpredictability. He is the most formidable foe in all of WWE, but Reigns and Ambrose working together could be the answer to the riddle. That's the point, though, isn't it? They can't both win, and even if they best Lesnar long enough to pin his shoulders to the mat for those three slaps from the referee there's still a battle to be had over who it is that gets the honors.</p>
<p>Ambrose has met Reigns in the past, and he lost every time. Then again, Lesnar has never lost to either of them.</p>
<p>Tick tock.</p>
<h3>What to expect</h3>
<p>The cool thing about the build to this show is WWE worked hard to make this match as unpredictable as it can possibly be. Sure, Reigns is almost certainly winning but at least you can see a couple scenarios where they go another direction.</p>

<h3>Brie Bella vs. Charlotte (c)</h3>
<h4>Divas Championship Match</h4>
<p>Times have not been easy for Brie Bella. Her sister Nikki has been out of action going on four months due to a career threatening neck injury. Not only does this impact Brie because she has to watch her sister, who she's extremely close with, go through a turbulent time, but also, without Nikki around, Brie's role in WWE becomes muddled. While Nikki broke out the last couple years and could stand on her own, as of late, Brie's role has been as a partner of her twin sister. Now that that sister is on the shelf, Brie finds herself without a defined role in the Divas division. The twins share a Twitter account and even a Wikipedia page. Without Nikki, there is no Bella Twins and that can leave Brie struggling to find her place in the division.</p>
<p>Then there's her husband Daniel Bryan, who just had to retire due to the long term effects of numerous concussions. It was another trying episode for Mrs. Danielson, who was there while Bryan struggled with trying to get himself healthy enough to do what he loves while also worrying about his long term health and the impact that could have on them and their future family. After his retirement, she now has to deal with the fact that not only is her sister not currently traveling all over country with her, but her husband never will again.</p>
<p>During all this turmoil, Brie had a big moment of her own when, on <i>Raw</i>, she defeated Divas champion Charlotte in a one on one match. She had a very small amount help from Alicia Fox to help neutralize Charlotte's Ric Flair, who will do what he needs in order to ensure a victory for his daughter.</p>
<p><iframe frameborder="0" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/P1Ttw6QGV5s" height="315" width="560"></iframe></p>
<p>As is usually WWE form, beating the champion in a non-title match earned Brie Bella a rematch, this time for a shot at the Divas title. And it could not have come at a better... and worse... time.</p>
<p>In the positive, Brie Bella has probably never been more motivated to win a match. This match is not just for her but for her husband and sister, who will have to watch from home because they are unable to wrestle. The crowd will be likely more behind her than ever before. Fans are still reeling from Daniel's retirement and are very willing to throw their support for him behind Brie. In those respects, this could be the best time for this match, with the fans at their most invested and Brie at her most motivated.</p>
<p>Charlotte's words for Brie last Monday, which questioned why Brie wasn't at home for her husband and sister and mocked a possible financial crisis for the family, are likely to add more fuel to the fire.</p>
<p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lb9OWdhzFQI" frameborder="0"></iframe></p>
<p>While all of those things may help fire up Brie Bella on her journey to her second Divas title, one must wonder if she can muster the complete focus needed to win on Sunday. Can she bury the stray thoughts that come from all the recent struggles in her personal life and concentrated solely on the task at hand? Because with Ric Flair on the outside giving Charlotte that extra advantage, Brie cannot let her thoughts distract her. Brie is also not accustomed to wrestling without backup (it is unknown at this time if Alicia Fox will be at ringside again), which could play a factor in how she well she can adapt during the match if necessary.</p>
<p>With her recent announcement that <a href="http://www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/2016/2/16/11015808/brie-bella-confirms-her-wwe-retirement-on-good-morning-america">she will be retiring soon</a>, it's certainly understandable to question if she's going to be as focused with one foot out the door. Even in her sit down interview with Michael Cole, you can certainly get the impression that winning this title is not what her main focus is. And if it's not, she will surely not come out on top.</p>
<p><iframe frameborder="0" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/irx71tYyI-Q" height="315" width="560"></iframe></p>
<p>It will be an emotional match for Brie and the crowd will be behind her. But with Ric Flair on the outside and Charlotte's size and strength advantage on the inside, it will certainly be an uphill battle for Brie Bella. Can she overcome all of that while ignoring all personal distractions to capture her second Divas Title for herself and her family? Tune in to <i>Fast Lane </i>on the WWE Network tonight at 8 EST to find out.</p>

<p>It's one thing to <a href="http://www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/2016/2/20/11077228/wwe-fastlane-2016-predictions-brock-lesnar-vs-roman-reigns-vs-dean-ambrose" target="_blank">predict the winners and losers</a> at WWE's <i>Fastlane 2016</i>, but how about taking a guess at the match order on that card?</p>
<p>WWE has announced 7 different segments for the main card of <i>Fastlane 2016</i>:</p>
<ul>
<li>Brock Lesnar versus Dean Ambrose versus Roman Reigns</li>
<li>Chris Jericho versus AJ Styles</li>
<li>Charlotte vs Brie Bella</li>
<li>Wyatt Family versus Ryback, Kane, and Big Show</li>
<li>Kevin Owens versus Dolph Ziggler</li>
<li>Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch versus Naomi and Tamina</li>
<li>Cutting Edge Peep Show with the New Day</li>
</ul>
<p>So what order will these 7 segments be arranged in?</p>
<h4>Segment Timing</h4>
<p>To help take a stab at this, I sifted through my data on Pay-Per-View (PPV) <a href="http://www.cagesideseats.com/match-times" target="_blank">match times</a> that I have been recording since 2013. I looked through the data to find all of the 3-hour events that were also comprised of 7 different segments. I found 14 different events that fit this criteria, and here is how the timing of those 7 segments broke down for those events:</p>
<p><b>Average Times</b></p>
<p>Segment 1: 13m 24s<br>Segment 2: 10m 11s<br>Segment 3: 13m 07s<br>Segment 4: 13m 51s<br>Segment 5: 13m 12s<br>Segment 6: 8m 48s<br>Segment 7: 21m 11s<br><br><b>Median Times</b></p>
<p>Segment 1: 12m 28s<br>Segment 2: 8m 43s<br>Segment 3: 11m 03s<br>Segment 4: 13m 16s<br>Segment 5: 13m 51s<br>Segment 6: 7m 16s<br>Segment 7: 20m 54s<br><br>For matches, these times only reflect bell-to-bell match times. For in-ring talking segments, these times also include entrances and exits.</p>
<p>What do the the lists above tell us about the timing of these segments?</p>
<p>The obvious conclusion is that the main event segment gets the most time, but as Alberto Del Rio might say, you already knew that.</p>
<p>The next thing that stands out is the accurate narrative behind the idea that the segment before the main event is the death slot. Segment 6 just doesn't get much time compared to most other segments.</p>
<p>It's interesting to see that Segment 2 really doesn't fare much better than Segment 6. It's possible that the data from before the so-called Divas Revolution is weighing heavily here, because that was a common segment for short Divas matches from those PPVs. Yet as recently as <i><a href="http://www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/2015/12/20/10093160/match-times-wwe-tlc-2015-edition" target="_blank">TLC 2015</a></i>, the match in Segment 2 (Rusev versus Ryback) only received 7m 56s, so it still may be a relevant characteristic of that slot going forward.</p>
<p>The average times of Segments 1, 3, 4, and 5 are all pretty close. The median times start to show some separation here, and Segment 5 is the only slot whose median time is greater than its average time. This probably indicates that Segment 5 is a better bet to receive a long match than Segments 1, 3, or 4.</p>
<p>The much lower median time of Segment 3 indicates that its average time was probably spiked by a couple of large data points. Looking through the data, I do notice a lengthy <a href="http://www.cagesideseats.com/2013/7/28/4560976/match-times-elimination-chamber-2013">Elimination Chamber</a> match from 2013 that lasted over 30 minutes in Segment 3.</p>
<p> </p>
<h4>
<i>Fastlane 2016</i> Segment Order</h4>
<p>To proceed from here, I now need to break up the 7 advertised segments for <i>Fastlane 2016</i> into an order of importance.</p>
<p>The most important matches on a PPV almost always receive those dedicated video packages that air right before superstar entrances.</p>
<p>The less important matches only receive shorter <i>Raw</i> recap videos that Cole talks over during superstar entrances.</p>
<p>So which matches on this card are going to stand out in importance by receiving those dedicated video packages? My best guess is that it will be Lesnar's match, Jericho's match, and Charlotte's match.</p>
<p>Ziggler's match, Sasha's match, and the New Day segment will probably not receive that treatment.</p>
<p>I'm not really sure where the Wyatt Family match will end up here. Big Show and Strowman did main event <i>Raw</i> the other night, but ultimately it doesn't feel like enough has really happened with them to warrant a 3 minute video package. A 45 second <i>Raw</i> recap video is probably more appropriate.</p>
<p>What does this have to do with match order? It turns out that Segment 1 never receives a dedicated video package. Right after the pyro goes off to start the show, superstar entrances immediately commence.</p>
<p>Due to the lack of a dedicated video package hyping up this match, Segment 1 often receives high work rate mid-card matches. Ziggler versus Owens fits this role very well, so that will probably be the opening match on the card.</p>
<p>Segment 1 also has never included a Divas match, so that's one more reason why I am going with Ziggler versus Owens for that spot. I happen to think that Sasha's tag team match should be given a chance to break that mold and start off this show, but past history suggests it is unlikely.</p>
<p>I should also get the obvious statement out of the way with no explanation needed: Segment 7 will be Lesnar's match.</p>
<p>Segment 5 now stands out as being most likely to receive the next most important match on the card. Styles versus Jericho seems like the best choice for that position.</p>
<p>How about that death slot in Segment 6 between Jericho's match and Lesnar's match?</p>
<p>Now that the Divas Revolution is upon us, it is a little harder to identify matches that WWE is likely to throw in the death slot. With just 6 matches announced for <i>Fastlane 2016</i>, it is also possible that WWE adds an unannounced filler squash match to the card involving the Social Outcasts and throws that in the death slot. This card does feel light on match quantity, so maybe that is the most likely outcome.</p>
<p>Given the advertised matches though, I think Sasha's tag team match has a better chance to be thrown into the death slot than any other match. It is the only remaining match on the card that never received any of the coveted top-of-the-hour time slots on <i>Raw</i> that WWE often uses to spotlight its most important feuds.</p>
<p>That leaves Charlotte's match, Wyatt's match, and Edge's talk show for Segments 2, 3, and 4. This puzzle is really tough to crack.</p>
<p>Segment 2 will probably go to the least important piece from that group.</p>
<p>Would WWE follow up a high work rate match like Ziggler versus Owens with a story-driven emotional feud like Charlotte vs Brie, or would they go with a beefy 6-man tag match? How about a comedy talking segment?</p>
<p>I am struggling with this decision because Segment 2 usually goes to one of the shorter matches on the card. Divas matches have been getting more time since the Divas Revolution began, but it doesn't seem like a good idea to let Brie versus Charlotte get a bunch of time. And is it really practical to have a 6-man tag team match be done in less than 10 minutes?</p>
<p>It's also interesting to note that WWE did run some PPV events since 2013 with 2 divas matches, and in several cases those two Divas matches were placed into Segment 2 and the Death Slot on those nights. But that was prior to the Divas Revolution.</p>
<p>There are less stakes in the Wyatt Family match than Charlotte's match, and it is definitely not a high work rate match. Maybe WWE will break up the title matches by throwing the beefy violence in between. All of that seems like a good fit for Segment 2 as well. So this is a really difficult decision.</p>
<p>With all of that in mind, I am going to shrug my shoulders in despair and go with Charlotte versus Brie for Segment 2 and then the Wyatt Family in Segment 3. It really seems like a toss up.</p>
<p>That leaves Edge's talk show in Segment 4. I don't really see them putting Edge's spot in Segment 2. Edge is one of the biggest stars on the show so I don't have any issues giving him one of the more important slots on the card like Segment 4. I suppose it is also possible that they screw up all of my predictions here by opening the show with Edge's talking segment, and use it to set up a tag team match with New Day for later in the night.</p>
<p>So here is my final prediction for the match order at <i>Fastlane 2016</i>:</p>
<p>Segment 1: Owens versus Ziggler<br>Segment 2: Charlotte versus Brie Bella <br>Segment 3: Wyatt Family versus Ryback, Kane, and Big Show<br>Segment 4: Cutting Edge Peep Show<br>Segment 5: Jericho versus Styles<br>Segment 6: Sasha and Becky versus Naomi and Tamina<br>Segment 7: Lesnar versus Ambrose versus Reigns</p>
<p>That's my prediction for the match order at <i>Fastlane 2016</i>. What's yours?</p>

<h4>WWE <i>FASTLANE </i>LIVE BLOG & MATCH COVERAGE</h4>
<p>Hey, all! Kyle here and I will be updating you on all the <i>Fast Lane </i>happenings and results right here. Hopefully it's a good one so let's do it!</p>
<p><b>Pre Show Highlights</b></p>
<p>Pre Show panel consists of Renee Young, Booker T, Jerry "The King" Lawler (who immediately makes fun of Renee's dress), and Corey Graves, who really is looking sharp.</p>
<p>Paul Heyman drops by the panel. He says Brock Lesnar is prepared like he always will. He said that even in a triple threat, Brock Lesnar will be a focal point because Ambrose and Rollins won't be able to neutralize Lesnar. Heyman even hopes the former Shield guys team up against the Beast because that's going to put the thought into their head of who's going to betray whom and Lesnar will then divide and conquer.</p>
<p>Renee asks Heyman, "Who is the biggest threat to Lesnar, Ambrose or Reigns?" to which he responds "Brock Lesnar."</p>

<div><b>Alberto Del Rio vs. Kalisto (c) for the United States Championship in a 2 out 3 Falls Match</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Mauro Ranallo on the call for this one alongside JBL and Byron Saxton</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Del Rio gets a decent round of boos during the intro while Kalisto gets a decent pop.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Right off the bat, Del Rio goes after Kalisto's mask. ADR gets the advantage early. However Kalisto turns around fortunes with a huricarnana and follows up with a cross body from the turnbuckle to del Rio on the outside. ADR takes advantage soon after. His mocking of the Lucha chant gets a good round of boos from the crowd.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Del Rio works over Kalisto on the outside for awhile but when trying to lawn dart Kalisto into the corner post, the champ pushes ADR into the corner himself to take control. He then hits a huricanrana form the barricade onto Del Rio, vaulting him over the barricade. When he goes to get ADR, Del Rio hits Kalisto with a chair and gets himself DQ'd.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Kalisto wins the first fall by DQ</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Del Rio uses the advantage from the chair short and really works Kalisto over all over the outside.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>They go to commercial and come back and we learn that the second part hasn't started yet. After they ring the bell, Del Rio deflects a few kicks from Kalisto & quickly hits his foot stomp to a hanging Kalisto to pin him for the second fall.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Del Rio wins the second fall by Pinfall.</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Del Rio dominates the beginning of the third fall and continues to go after the mask of Kalisto. Kalisto finds himself in the Tree of Woe and Del Rio goes for another corner stomp. Before he can, Kalisto grabs Del Rio's head with his legs and Frankensteiners him off the top!</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>This leads to a Kalisto fury, which only results in a 2 count for Kalisto. This becomes a more back and forth affair, with a VERY close near fall for Kalisto after he hit a spinning DDT on ADR. A failed top rope maneuver leaves Kalisto in the Tree of Woe again. ADR delivers an inverted superplex onto Kalisto but Kalisto was lucky enough to roll out of the ring.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>On the outside, ADR sets Kalisto up in the Tree of Woe on the barricade and hits a nasty foot stomp. He goes inside to try to win via count out, but Kalisto just beats the count at 9. Back in the ring, ADR goes for yet <i>another</i> foot stomp in the corner but Kalisto is tries to sit up and try to convert it in a Salida Del Sol. He fails at that but is able to push ADR into the corner and roll Del Rio up for the 1-2-3.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Kalisto wins the third and final fall by roll up to retain the US Championship.</b></div>

<div><b>AJ styles joins Rich Brennan in the Social Media Lounge</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>AJ talks about how he's proud of all the work he's done prior, but the WWE is where he'll make his legacy. His mind was blown at the pop he got at the Rumble. When asked about a wrestler that inspired him growing up, he said it was actually football player Barry Sanders, who wasn't the biggest guy either. As for wrestlers, it's Sting. When asked about wrestling in WWE, he compares it from playing baseball in the MLB compared to in Japan -- WWE is the majors.</div>

<div><b>Sasha Banks & Becky Lynch vs. Namoi and Tamina</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Fast Lane opens with a women's match!</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Cole replaces Ranallo in the booth. There's a Spanish <i>and</i> German announce team tonight, so someone is going through a table at one point.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>There seems to be some confusion between Sasha and Becky about who starts. Sasha takes it, but Becky tags herself in. Sasha isn't happy but they do double drop kick Tamina. Naomi is tagged in and does her multi kick thing to Becky but Becky has none of it and suplexes Naomi out of the ring. Some well coordinated double teaming by BAE ensues.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Team BAD gets the advantage on Becky when Naomi hits a pseudo neck breaker on Becky that lands Becky's head on the top turnbuckle. Becky becomes face in peril with Team BAD working her over. Becky tries to make a tag and is almost there but Naomi pulls Sasha off the apron just in time. Team BAD continues to dominate Becky Lynch.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Becky finally is able to neutralize both Team BAD members and tag in Sasha. The Boss is a House Of Fire! She gets Naomi in the Bank Statement but Tamina pulls her off. The Boss chases Tamina around the ring and back into the ring and runs right into a Naomi Rear View. Naomi goes for the pin but Sasha kicks out at 2.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Both members of Team Bad work over Sasha but Sasha is able to land on her feet when Team BAD tries a double suplex. Becky hits a double missile drop kick on both women from the top rope. The Boss locks in the Bank Statement on Tamina. Naomi tries to break it up, but Becky catches her and puts her in the Dis-Armer. Tamina taps out.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Sasha Banks submits Tamina to win the match for Team BAE.</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Sasha and Becky celebrate together after the match. Neither one attacks the other.</div>

<div><b>Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Kevin Owens gets control early with a cheap headbutt when the ref is trying to separate both men on the ropes.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>The crowd is decidedly split. KO let's Dolph know "Your home town likes me more than you!"</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Despite Dolph getting a little mat wrestling in, KO continues to control the match. Dolph gets brief control with a drop kick but KO gets it back very soon with a <i>very</i> hard face first Irish whip of Dolph into the corner. KO trash talks to the crowd, who boos him for it.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Dolph finally makes a come back but AGAIN it's short lived when KO delivers his running senton on Dolph's back. Crowd again is split. KO works over Ziggler with a chin lock, screaming at the ref to "ask him." Owens runs at Ziggler in the corner but Dolph side steps and KO slams his shoulder into the post and flies out of the ring.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>This allows Dolph to finally open up some offense. He hits four elbows on KO and goes for a pin but KO is able to kick out. Both men are slow to get up. Dolph goes for a running DDT but KO catches him and puts Ziggler on the ropes and hits his corner cannonball. The results in a near fall for KO.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>KO goes for the pop up powerbomb but Dolph gets the jumping DDT he was looking for earlier. It looks nasty but KO is able to kick out. Owens hits his back slam off the top rope but Dolph is able to roll out. KO goes to follow him and gets met with a sweet super kick.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Back in the ring, Dolph goes for a Zig Zag but Dolph grabs the rope. KO hits a super kick of his own. Both men are down. Owens is up first but the Dolph gets up quickly and hits KO with another kick of his own. Owens rolls out of the ring.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>KO pulls Ziggler to the floor with him and goes for an apron powerbomb... but Ziggler reverses it into a huricanrana into the steps!</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Back on the inside, Ziggler hits the Fame-Asser for a near fall. Ziggler calls for Sweet Chin Music but almost hits the ref with the super kick. In the confusion, KO picks up Ziggler and delivers his Pop Up Powerbomb for the 1-2-3.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Kevin Owens defeats Dolph Ziggler to retain the Intercontinental Title</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>The announcers talk up "KO Mania" afterwards. Ownens makes sure to stare down Michael Cole afterwards.</div>

<div><b>The Wyatt Family vs. Kane, Big Show, & Ryback</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>While Big Show enters, Braun Strowman steals Byron Saxton's chari for Bray Wyatt.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Starts with Ryback and Erick Rowan. Rowan has early control. The Big Guy turns it around with some corner shoulder blocks. Big Show is tagged in and Team Big Guys continues to have control. Ryback comes back in but Rowan turns it around and tags in Luke Harper, works over Ryback. Brawn is tagged in as the Wyatts start to dominate.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>There's not a ton of crowd interest early on.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Ryback suplexes Rowan and tags in Kane, who delivers a floating DDT on Rowan. Kane controls Rowan. The fight spills to the outside and too many distractions allow the Wyatts to regain control. The Wyatt Family works over Kane for awhile.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Kane finally able to make a tag to the Big Guy, who works on Harper. He hits consecutive CM Punk knees and Michael Cole actually says he "Looks like a cruiserweight." Crowd gets into some Feed Me More chants as Ryback slams Harper over and over again.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Match starts to break down with consecutive run ins, that ends with Big Show Gorilla Presses Luke Harper out of the ring! Big Show then spears Strowman on the outside. The Big Guy and Luke are back in the ring. Ryback hits the Shell Shock on Luke Harper for the win.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Ryback, Big Show, & Kane defeat the Wyatt Family.</b></div>
<div><br></div>

<div>JoJo interviews Roman Reigns. He says that things will end up changing with him and Dean Ambrose after this. Ambrose rolls in and agrees. They make a bunch of <i>Fast Lane</i>/travel references, including the word "Price Line." JoJo reminds them Lesnar is in the match too. Dean says there's no way Brock is winning and it will be one of the Shield brothers across from Triple H at <i>WrestleMania</i>.</div>

<div><b>Brie Bella vs. Charlotte (c) for the Divas Championship</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Brie is wearing Bryan's <i>WrestleMania 30 </i>kick pads.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>It's very even between both women early on. Because Charlotte mocked the YES chants early, Brie mocked the Flair strut a bit later. Brie hits a snap back reminiscent of her sister and then goes for the Bryan kicks, but Charlotte rolls to the apron. When Brie goes to get her, the champ grabs Brie with her legs and tosses her outside, taking control.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Charlotte maintains control for awhile with a slow pace. Brie ends up applying a sleeper but Charlotte drops Brie to take control back.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>The crowd is not alive for this match.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Charlotte takes some time to mock the Yes! chant and the Bella dance. Ric Flair loves it. Brie is able to take back control with her running knee against the rope. Then hits her with a Bellahammer (!) for a near fall. Charlotte regains some control with some chops and solidifies it with a big boot. The champ goes for the Figure 8 but Bella kicks her to the outside.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Brie hits a top rope drop kick but then starts holding her left knee. She is able to use that leg to hit the DB kicks anyway. Charlotte goes for the Figure 8 but Brie turns it into the Yes Lock. Ric tries to interfere but fails and Brie turns the submission into a single leg Boston Crab.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Charlotte is able to kick her off and places the Figure 8 and Brie taps.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Charlotte wins by submission to retain the Divas title.</b></div>

<div>JoJo interviews Y2J backstage prior to the match. Jericho says that "You're only as good as your last match." He said that the pressure is on AJ. If AJ wins, then he's cemented his place in WWE, but if he loses, that may send Styles out the door.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>There's some back and forth chain wrestling to start. Both men trie for their submissions early to no avail.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>There's a very loud split crowd here, who is awake again for this match.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Both men continue to trade offense evenly with no one getting the early advantage. A drop kick form AJ followed by a snap suplex is able to get Styles an advantage. However a huge back body drop from Y2J to AJ reverses momentum. This continued for a bit until Jericho missed a corner splash and fell out of the ring. Styles goes for a spring board outside but Jericho catches AJ with some kicks to regain control.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>The crowd continues to be really into this match as AJ takes back control with some strikes, including a beautiful looking flying elbow to Jericho, who is sitting at the time. Styles goes for the Styles Clash but Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho, which AJ escapes from. Jericho hits an enziguri for brief advantage but soon receives a face plant from Styles as this match starts to become a back and forth affair.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Jericho slaps the back of AJ's head and tosses Styles into the corner. Y2J goes for a move on the top but AJ escapes and knocks Jericho down. AJ goes for a springboard elbow but Jericho is able to knock Styles down with a springboard drop kick of his own prior.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>AJ gets enough control and puts him to the top rope. Jericho knocks him down but AJ hits Y2J with a Pele kick. AJ goes back up to deliver more offense but Jericho takes AJ to the ground and puts him in the Walls. Styles is able to make it to the ropes. Jericho is angry and starts some brutal offense on ring apron and outside to AJ, including a class Lion Tamer outside!</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>The split crowd is starting to boo Y2J more now. Jericho hits the Code Breaker as AJ is re-entering the ring but Styles gets his arm under the rope to break it. Jericho starts shouting "You are stupid to" to AJ. Styles starts fighting back. A bunch of roll throughs from both men lead to the Styles Clash for the 1, 2... KICK OUT.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>AJ puts the Calf Crusher on immediately. Jericho fights it but is forced to tap out!</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>AJ Styles defeats Chris Jericho via submission.</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Jericho pulls Styles down from celebration and stares him down. Styles screams "Do you want to go again?" and both men look poised to fight. Instead, Y2J extends his hand and AJ shakes it.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>This was a fun match that the crowd was really into.</div>

<div><b>Cutting Edge Peep Show with the New Day</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>E&C start with some promotion for their new show that airs after the PPV. Christian talks about how Cleveland was the home of the first tag team ladder match before the New Day interrupts to come out early.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Xavier says the New Day can do whatever they want, including a one sided free style battle, and Woods drops some. E&C talks about how early on, the New Day wasn't interesting (Edge never say "chocolate act so vanilla") and they claim that the New Day became interesting by acting like Edge and Christian back in their prime.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Kofi says that New Day is better than E&C.. and everybody else. They run down the tag division (Ascensions, Usos, Dudleys, and the League of Nations) and says there's no one left that compares to them. The League of Nations interrupts the segment</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Xavier says that they are not going to engage in fisticuffs with the League and instead turn the other cheek. They leave the ring, leaving the League and E&C in the ring. The League starts talking trash to Edge and Christian and this becomes a back and forth verbal brawl. E&C leave the ring too and calls the League the "International House of Dumbasses" and the New Day shows the League their booty dance. It ends with Christian chanting "Watch... Our Show."</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>As a quick run down: It started with E&C talking trash with the New Day, turned to the League of Nations talking trash to both of them, and ended with E&C AND the New Day taunting the League.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>For those hoping for Enzo and Big Cass, that did not happen here.</div>

<div><br></div>
<div><b>R-Truth vs. Curtis Axel</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>R-Truth takes control early with a hip toss, but the Outcasts jump on the apron to distract Truth. Axel takes advantage while the other 3 do a victory lap.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Goldust comes down to the ring as well and trips up Axel while the ref is distracted with the other Outcasts. R-Truth takes advantage in the ring while Goldust lays out Slater and tosses Adam Rose in the ring, which throws Truth off balance. Axel capitalizes with a roll up to win.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Curtis Axel defeats R-Truth via pinfall.</b></div>

<div>Goldust gets in the ring and apologizes afterwards. He's still lobbying for a tag team.</div>

<div><b>Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar to become the #1 Contender for the WWE Title</b></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Ambrose comes out first to a pretty nice pop. Roman comes down to what sounds like a mixed reaction at best. Lesnar gets a nice pop himself. These trends continue during the introductions, though Roman's reception is just boos and not mixed then. (Heyman introduces Lesnar himself.)</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Match starts with Lesnar going right after Ambrose. Reigns goes after Lesnar and gets an early suplex. Lesnar is already in control. Dean tries his hand but Lesnar is still easily in control. Ambrose gets quick control of Lesnar and tries to go for a German Suplex of his own! He fails miserably and eats a belly to belly suplex. Lesnar still has easy control of both men.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>"Suplex City" chants reign down from the crowd as Reigns is taken there. Four Germans to Reigns and then F5! Dean Ambrose breaks it up. Dean slaps Lesnar and Lesnar tosses him around like a rag doll because of it. Then Ambrose takes a ride to Suplex City as Lesnar starts turning that hue of purple he does when he is kicking arse.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>After a few suplexes to Ambrose, Brock goes for the F5. Before he can, Reigns spears Brock but only gets a two count. Roman looks to take advantage and hits a Superman punch that knocks Brock out of the ring. he goes after Brock on the outside and jumps at him. Brock catches him for an F5 but Dean low blows Brock before he can hit it!</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Dean and Ambrose look to work together. They set up the Shield Powerbomb and put Lesnar through an announce table!</div>
<div>Dean then goes after Roman and tosses him into the ring steps and the fight goes to the inside. Dean has early advantage working over Roman. This then turns into a back and forth slugfest. A rebound clothesline from Dean leaves both men laying in the middle of the ring.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Noticing that Brock is stirring, the brothers go back after Brock on the outside. They then prepare a second announce table for some more destruction. They deliver ANOTHER powerbomb to Lesnar through the announce table! They bury Lesnar under the announce table debris.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>This time, Roman goes after Ambrose first to the crowd's dismay. Back in the ring, Roman has control on Dean. Roman ends up hitting a Superman punch to Dean and sets up for the spear, which Ambrose kick the first and Roman tries a second but Ambrose side steps it sending Roman into the corner. Roman falls back and Ambrose hits Dirty Deeds! But Roman kicks out at 2!</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Ambrose goes for a second one but Roman sets up for a Samoan Drop. However Lesnar runs in and Germans Roman! Dean flies out of the ring and Brock and Roman are both down. Both men are up but Reigns hits a spear first... Brock immediately locks in the Kimura lock! Reigns picks up Brock with the hold still locked in and Ambrose comes in with a chair to Lesnar over and over again.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>He then takes the chair to Roman and back to Brock! Roman is able to shrug off a ton of chair shots and hit a spear on Dean for the 1-2-3.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><b>Roman Reigns pins Dean Ambrose to become #1 Contender</b></div>
<div><br></div>

<h3>Intercontinental Championship Match</h3>
<h5>Kevin Owens (c) vs Dolph Ziggler</h5>
<p>It feels like these two guys have fought each other every week on <i>Raw</i> for the last month. So how do you add some shine to their latest match? Throw the Intercontinental Championship into the mix!</p>
<h4>The Road to <i>Fastlane</i>
</h4>
<p class="pgh-paragraph" id="paragraph1"><span>You have probably seen Kevin Owens wrestle against Dolph Ziggler before. </span></p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph"><span>If you haven't, check out any of these episodes of <i>Raw</i> since last June:</span></p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">June 15<br>August 24<br>October 26<br>November 2<br>November 23<br>December 7<br>December 21<br>January 25<br>February 1<br>February 8<br>February 15</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">Or check out any of these episodes of <i>Smackdown</i> since last September:</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">September 17<br>September 24<br>December 17<br>December 22</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">That is a total of 15 times that you may have seen Ziggler and Owens go at it in the past. 9 of those 15 matches were of the one-on-one variety. 11 of these 15 matches have come in the last 17 weeks of television.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">The matches are always really good because Ziggler and Owens are two of the best performers on the WWE roster. Their upcoming match at <i>Fastlane</i> should once again provide the excellent quality that fans have to come to expect from these two wrestlers.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">However the underlying problem behind this quantity of matches is that there has never been much of a storyline to warrant the repetition. The repetition mainly exists because WWE has 5 hours of television to fill out each week but they don't have enough guys who are popular enough to fill out that time with.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">Dolph Ziggler has served this exact role in the mid-card for a very long time, so this is nothing new for him or his fans.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">The situation is a little more disconcerting when it comes to Kevin Owens. He is the guy who debuted with a rare clean win over John Cena last May. He is the guy that many people hoped would emerge from <i>Survivor Series 2015</i> as WWE Champion and take his spot as the top heel in the company after Seth Rollins went down with injury. He is the guy who many people thought would make a great opponent for Undertaker or Brock Lesnar at <i>WrestleMania 32</i>.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">But these last few months have been very confusing for fans of Kevin Owens. Sheamus ended up as the heel who replaced Seth Rollins in the top storyline, while Owens spent the last 3 months losing on every single Pay-Per-View event to Dean Ambrose.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">Rumors also spread that Owens had to lobby behind the scenes in order to secure the notable elimination of AJ Styles during the Royal Rumble match. Other rumors suggested that Owens lobbied to get the big match with Undertaker at <i>WrestleMania 32</i> but his efforts proved fruitless.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">Even if those rumors are not true, the fact that Kevin Owens has been quickly inserted into a feud with mid-carder Dolph Ziggler on the fast lane to <i>WrestleMania 32</i> suggests that Kevin Owens is going to have to wait a couple more months before he has chance for a big push back up the card.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">Is Owens even a lock to beat Ziggler at <i>Fastlane</i>? Could things actually get worse for him going forward? The fact that the Intercontinental Championship was quickly taken off Dean Ambrose without much of a build up suggests that WWE doesn't have any long-term plans in place for the belt. It is simply around KO's waist right now in order to add a fresh coat of paint to this <i>Fastlane</i> match with Ziggler that we have seen on <i>Raw</i> for 4 weeks in a row.</p>
<h5>What's at stake?</h5>
<p class="pgh-paragraph" id="paragraph4">Kevin Owens claims that he is on the fast lane to KO-Mania, and the outcome of this match could be a strong indicator of where Kevin Owens is headed on that <i>WrestleMania 32</i> card.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">If Owens wins at <i>Fastlane</i>, then maybe he is still penciled in for an enviable spot against someone like AJ Styles or Chris Jericho at <i>WrestleMania 32</i>. But if Owens loses this match to Ziggler, perhaps the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal awaits him on April 3rd.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph">Oh yeah, the Intercontinental Championship is also on the line at <i>Fastlane</i>. But that seems almost secondary at this point.</p>
<p class="pgh-paragraph" id="paragraph5"><b>Tune into <i>Fastlane</i> and keep it here on Cageside Seats to see which man walks out with the gold!</b></p>
