nZo thanks fans after scary incident at indie show

On Saturday night (May 22), nZo wrestled Ivan Warsaw in Dallas for Texas independent promotion SWE. It was one of only a handful of matches the former Enzo Amore has worked since he was released by WWE in 2018.

During the match, nZo took a DDT on the floor and “was knocked completely out” according to Wrestling Observer Radio. Dave Meltzer reported he was taken to the hospital, but didn’t have an update from the performer or the promotion regarding his status. nZo did tweet this message out yesterday morning:

While there doesn’t seem to be video of the spot that can be used to try and determine what happened, it’s not the first time nZo’s been knocked unconscious during a match; he went stiff after hitting his head during a tag match at WWE Payback in 2016.

The 34 year old New Jerseyan is a controversial figure, both because of the rape allegation which preceded, and the type of self-promotion he did after his WWE release. After laying low for a while, he’s been appearing a little more often of late, including for Doc Gallows’ Lariato Pro and during Gallows & Anderson’s Talk ‘N ShopAMania PPV.
