We still haven’t seen the Jon Moxley vs. Josh Barnett fight that was among the first things booked after the man then known as Dean Ambrose left WWE in 2019. That match was postponed by Mox’s staph infection, and then cancelled by the pandemic.
He finally worked a match at the Barnett’s Bloodsport promotion last fall, beating Chris Dickinson. Moxley’s return was announced tonight (Feb. 13) at Bloodsport 4, and it’s a quick turnaround - next weekend’s Bloodsport 5. It’s also against someone who’s worked for a lot of the same companies Mox has - Harry Smith, aka Davey Boy Smith Jr.
Seeing as they only have a week to build to it, we’ve already got a slick teaser for the fight. And some fighting words from the Death Rider.

The son of British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith and Bret & Owen Hart’s sister Diana, Smith Jr. twice won tag gold in WWE with Tyson Kidd. Later, while teaming with Lance Archer in New Japan, he became a three-time IWGP Heavyweight Tag champ. The 35 year old is currently a highly sought after free agent after wrapping up with MLW last year, and just recently confirmed reports he’s been talking to WWE about a return.
But first, a no ropes match with Mox that can only be won by knockout or submission!
