OVW is expanding under the guidance of owner and CEO Al Snow in an effort to become players on the professional wrestling scene. Many may remember OVW as the developmental territory for WWE from 1999 to 2008. The promotion kept chugging along, and now they are aiming for bigger things. Part of that is increasing exposure. OVW announced they are debuting on the Action Channel starting tonight (Oct. 2, 2021) at 10 pm ET/PT.
The press release states:
OVW Wrestling joins the Action Channel and Get After It Media
Prolific wrestling organization teams up with emerging sports/entertainment broadcast company
For over 25 years, OVW Wrestling has been an icon in the world of professional wrestling. Our organization is one of the sport’s most storied companies. But, even with out legendary history, our story is one of the future as OVW Wrestling has never seen the momentum, excitement, or global reach than we have today.
“We are proud to join the Action Channel family when OVW TV makes our debut this Saturday, October 2nd at 10pm! We truly believe that we offer one of the best wrestling products in the world and we’re excited to share that with the Action viewers. We’ve seen unprecedented growth in 2021 and now we have another great opportunity to expand our passionate OVW fanbase,” said OVW Wrestling CEO/owner Al Snow.
About OVW Wrestling: Founded in 1993, OVW Wrestling rose to prominence by creating breakout professional wrestling stars like WWE’s John Cena and Brock Lesnar, AEW’s Cody Rhodes, WWE/Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista and countless others. Recently OVW has built itself up as a global wrestling organization by streaming via Roku and Amazon Prime. OVW Wrestling aligned with ASWA (Al Snow’s Wrestling Academy) and now has training facilities across the US, the UK, Europe, and South America.
In addition to the Action Channel, OVW also airs on YTA, Game+, Cox Sports TV, and RCN-TV, and Fite TV. The promotion streams worldwide with an OVW TV app.

Time for a championship roll call. The most high-profile name is “Mr. Pectacular” Jesse Godderz.
- OVW Heavyweight Championship: Omar Amir
- OVW National Heavyweight Championship: Jessie Godderz
- OVW Anarchy Championship: Amon
- OVW Rush Division Championship: Gustavo
- OVW Tag Team Championship: Darkkloudz (Deget Bundlez & Eric Darkstorm)
- OVW Women’s Championship: Sierra
- OVW World Radio Championship: Shannon The Dude
Since Godderz’ name was mentioned, I better play it safe to avoid a lawsuit and include this tidbit from his OVW profile.
We’ve also been advised by Jessie’s legal team that we’re obligated to mention that he is best friends with William Shatner, Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees and many other “fabulous celebrities”.
Will you be tuning into OVW? If you have viewed the show before, what did you think?
