Jon Moxley’s first indie dates are against other AEW wrestlers

Pro Wrestling Analyst on Twitter

After months with nothing but speculation and conspiracy theories, we suddenly know a lot about the wrestling future of Jon Moxley (fka Dean Ambrose).

Mox kept his mouth shut until he was out of WWE. Even then, outside of one teaser video, we didn’t hear anything from or about the guy... until he debuted at AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view (PPV) last Saturday night.

Now the floodgates are open. He’s cutting promos, and we know not only when his first All Elite match will be, but also that he’ll debut for New Japan soon. Along with that, he’s also got a bunch of indie dates lined up this summer with Northeast Wrestling (NEW).

Opponents are announced for two of those, and they’re names who are also working with AEW. Moxley will face Darby Allin on June 14, and Pentagon Jr. on Aug. 16. He’s also listed as being on the card for the promotion on June 15 & 17.

NEW is a company WWE usually allows folks under contract to them to work. Kurt Angle is set to make an appearance for them at New Jersey’s Six Flags Great Adventure on June 15. Renee Young is actually booked on the Aug. 16 card which features her husband.

It’ll be interesting to see if Angle, Young and others are allowed to keep those commitments now that NEW is featuring a lot of All Elite talent. Is that enough of an “association with AEW”?

Either way, you’ve got some Explicit Mox Violence coming your way soon, NEW fans.
