James Ellsworth shows up at Beyond / WWR Lit Up to work intergender gimmick, attack Matt Riddle

World Wrestling Network

Following Matt Riddle’s victory over Deonna Purrazzo in a short and sweet sprinty hoot of a match at Beyond Wrestling / Women’s Wrestling Revolution Lit Up today (for full results, check here), his opponent for GCW Joey Janela’s Spring Break 2 showed up.

James Ellsworth blindsided him with his trademark Intergender Championship, pointed out that you had to expect that he would show up at an all-intergender show, being the king of intergender wrestling and all, and proceeded to run our Bro down before Matt woke up and ran him off.

It’s a little weird in that the Spring Break promo package positioned Jimmy Dream as a fighting babyface who just wants to prove his worth against cocky better-than-you ex-UFC heel Matt Riddle. But here, because of the way Ellsworth’s intergender gimmick is positioned the alignments are reversed, with a slimy James punctuating his sentences with “duh” and playing chickenshit heel to Riddle’s upright-if-still-somewhat-cocky babyface.

So it’s a bit of a continuity issue, but I’d much rather have cool cross-promotional moments of continuity like this than not, even when they don’t totally make sense.

There you have it, folks

Excited to see Jimmy Dream get what’s coming to him at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 2 tonight or are you on Team Two Hands, Cagesiders?
