MLW signs former WWE World Champ ahead of their television premiere

We’re just days away from the debut of the latest new wrestling show on a widely available television network - Major League Wrestling’s MLW Fusion premieres on beIN Sports this Friday (April 20) at 8PM Eastern.

And while he won’t be on the first batch of shows, Court Bauer’s promotion is bringing in a face which will be familiar to WWE fans for their next taping. And The Real American won’t have Zeb Colter with him, but he is bringing a famous manager...

“Major League Wrestling has reached a multi-fight deal with Jake Hager, the ex-World Champion formerly known as “Jack Swagger”. The deal will see Hager make his MLW debut on May 3rd in Orlando at MLW: Intimidation Games hosted by Gilt Nightclub.

A native of Perry, Oklahoma, the current Bellator MMA fighter was a decorated collegiate wrestler at the University of Oklahoma, where he was an All-American and set the school record for most pins at the 285-pound weight class in a single season with 30.

‘A reckoning is coming to the heavyweight division of Major League Wrestling,’ said Hager’s new manager, renowned southern promoter Colonel Robert Parker.”

Hager also announced a Bellator contract last fall, and is supposed to fight at heavyweight for the mixed martial arts company in 2018. Seems likely his “multi-fight” deal with MLW will lead to his appearing on beIN Sports before Paramount Network, but we shall see.

Excited for the debut of Fusion, Hager’s first match, or both?
