Young Bucks & BTE cast thank ROH, tease ‘All Elite’ during Final Battle curtain call

UPDATE: Full video of the curtain call is here.

As expected, each member of the Being The Elite cast with an expiring contract lost their match at Ring of Honor’s Final Battle pay-per-view (PPV) on Fri., Dec. 14. The only Elite regular to win was Marty Scurll, who is committed to ROH until after their April WrestleMania weekend show at Madison Square Garden.

Their performances included a few nods to the ongoing speculation about their next stop, including a report Cody Rhodes & The Young Bucks will be starting their own promotion, All Elite Wrestling, with the billionaire Khan family and overtures from the mysterious “H” on their YouTube show. The most overt references came during the Bucks Ladder War main event, where Matt & Nick Jackson ignored WWE’s cease & desist to Too Sweet in the ring...

... and Matt considered wielding Triple H’s favorite weapon before casting it away, opting instead to hit the Bucks’ own signature move, the Superkick...

After all was said and done, Cody Rhodes (who tapped out to World champ Jay Lethal in the pentultimate match of the night), Hangman Page (who lost a war to TV titleholder Jeff Cobb early on the show), Christopher Daniels (who dropped a match to Scurll with a World title shot on the line) & Marty joined the Jacksons and Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian of SCU (who lost their tag belts to the Briscoes in the main event) in the ring for a segment which was filmed but not broadcast as part of the PPV.

Matt did the talking, thanking the ROH for their support over the years and promising the fans they will be back in New York City. For specifics on what their future holds, he of course told us to follow BTE each week. But they did drop a pretty big clue when they asked:

“Everybody in this ring, all of you .... we’re All Elite, right? The timer is ticking! Something is about to go down! I don’t know what, I hope you watch our YouTube series Being The Elite.”

And as the crowd chanted “All or Nothing”, Matt closed with:

“I’ll tell you this. New York City - WE WILL BE BACK and we’ll see you then!”
