In a long Instagram post reflecting on the company’s first pay-per-view (PPV) event since he purchased it, NWA owner Billy Corgan commented on the production issue which marred the 70th Anniversary show. He also hinted at Nick Aldis reclaiming the Worlds championship from Cody Rhodes as possibly not being the end of their story...
As regular Cagesiders know, I’m a big fan of what Corgan and his right-hand man Dave Lagana are doing, and I’m really pulling for them. I have a lot of confidence they’ll correct the production issues from Oct. 21’s NWA 70. I’m less sure Nick Aldis is the star who’ll help them get where they’re going.
But he certainly has a lot of the attributes promoters look for in a top guy, and I’m willing to see if Billy and company can build around him. So I’m game for Aldis/Rhodes III.
