Kassius Ohno set to wrestle Joe Coffey for the ICW World Heavyweight Championship

As Scotland's Insane Championship Wrestling trickled matches out on their Twitter for their September 17 show The Infamous, at Newcastle, England's O2 Academy, they teased a "major announcement" for "Iron Man" Joe Coffey's challenger for his ICW World Heavyweight Championship.

So far, no big deal. Standard promotional tactic, really. Build that bad boy up and deliver big, right? But how big? Well, given 2017's proclivities thus far, we maybe should have seen it coming, but WWE had another surprise in store for us...

As it turns out... pretty big! Kassius Ohno is making his ICW debut with this match, but in his former life as Chris Hero, he was no stranger to the Iron Man in specific, going 1-1 with him for Edinburgh's Discovery Wrestling. And you bet your bottom dollar the Knockout Artist is looking forward to round three!

And what do you know, their first encounter is available right from the good folks at Discovery, free for nothin'!

We'll go ahead and close this out with the full announced details of the card then, shall we?

ICW The Infamous (September 17, 7PM GMT)

  • Filthy Generation (Aspen Faith, Lewis Girvan, & Stevie Boy) vs. Legion (Chris Renfrew, Michael Dante, & Mikey Whiplash)
  • Kings of the North (Bonesaw & Damien Corvin) vs. Polo Productions (Jackie Polo & Mark Coffey)
  • Johnny Moss vs. Lionheart
  • Kid Fite vs. Wolfgang
  • Marauders (Mike Bird & Wild Boar) vs. Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven & Tyler Bate)
  • Kasey Owens (c) vs. Little Miss Roxxy (ICW Women's Championship)
  • Joe Coffey (c) vs. Kassius Ohno (ICW World Heavyweight Championship)

There you have it, folks

WWE is letting Kassius Ohno come to ICW to run the rubber match in a trilogy against Joe Coffey started by Discovery. That's pretty 2017, but are you excited, Cagesiders?
