PWG BOLA 2017 results, Stage One (Sept. 1, 2017): Sydal vs. Penta, Flamita vs. Ricochet, & more!

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla

Every year, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), the West Coast’s most well known independent promotion, presents the Battle of Los Angeles (BOLA). Along with the DDT4 tag tournament, it’s one of their signature events, and the tournament brings in some of the biggest names in non-WWE wrestling every year.

The 2017 edition, the 13th annual, features 24 men who will compete over the first two nights of the tournament for a shot at Sunday’s quarterfinal & semi-final rounds, a berth in the Triple Threat final, and a chance to join past BOLA winners like Davey Richards, Kenny Omega, Low Ki, El Generico, Adam Cole, Ricochet, and Zack Sabre, Jr.

PWG is one of the few indies that doesn’t stream their shows online (they are good with quickly releasing DVDs, however), and tickets to see it live in Reseda, California sold out in minutes, but an event as big as BOLA deserves the live results treatment.

We’ll update those as they come after the 8PM Pacific/11PM Eastern bell time.

Feel free to use the comments to discuss them before, during, or after the show!

2017 Battle of Los Angeles First Round Matches:

Dezmond Xavier over Brian Cage by pinfall with a standing Victory Star Drop.

Non-Tournament Tag Team Match: Chosen Bros (Jeff Cobb & Matt Riddle) over Donovan Dijak & Keith Lee by pinfall with a knee strike from Riddle on Lee.

Penta el Zero M over Matt Sydal by pinfall with the package piledriver.

Zack Sabre, Jr. over Jonah Rock by submission with an armbar.
