We're ten days away from Global Force Wrestling (GFW)'s inaugural Amped show in Las Vegas on July 24, and Jeff Jarrett's latest venture has announced a slate of bouts that will appear on the card. Though it will be taped for future broadcast, the company has yet to announce where, when or on who's network.
Most factor in to touraments to determine who will wear the four championship belts he revealed yesterday that GFW will award.
Bestia 666, Blood Eagle & Steve Pain vs. Phoenix Star, Zokre & Misterioso Jr.
Global Championship Tournament
Brian Myers (formerly Curt Hawkins) vs. Chris Mortedzky (formerly Chris Masters)Bobby Roode vs. TBA
Kongo Kong vs. Nick Aldis (formerly Magnus)
Tag Team Championship Tournament
Chris Sabin and Kushida vs. Reno SCUM
The Bollywood Boys vs. Akbars
NEX*GEN Championship Tournament
PJ Black (formerly Justin Gabriel) vs. Seiya Sanada
Jigsaw vs. Sonjay Dutt
Women's Championship Tournament
Christina Von Eerie vs. Mickie James vs. Lei'D Tapa
There's some good talent here and folks deserving of a spotlight, but the roster looks thin to be supporting four divisions. The ridiculously named NEX*GEN title in particular seems like something that maybe could have been spun off at a later date. The designation, which Double-J touted as being for "up and comers", only features one performer under the age of 30.
Does this seem like a line-up you'd tune in for, or that would make you sign a deal if you were a broadcaster?
