A fan who went to last night's AAW Windy City Classic XI event in Chicago sent along a brief report on Sami Callihan, who worked as Solomon Crowe in WWE NXT before asking for his release just days ago, making his return to the promotion in his first appearance back on the independent scene (thanks to Jay Linski):
The last match of the night was a three way elimination between Trevor Lee, Eddie Kingston, and Ethan Page (c) for the AAW Heavyweight Championship. Eddie Kingston pinned Ethan Page clean for the win and the championship. As the crowd cheered and Kingston was celebrating in the ring, Sami Callihan ran into the ring and beatdown Kingston, which the crowd went wild for. As Kingston slowly rolled out of the ring, Sami grabbed the belt and cut a quick promo saying he was coming for the title, and that he was back.
I think this show will be available on DVD in the near future. It's well worth it for the Chris Hero vs. Pentagon Jr. match, which was insane, and Hero had half his fave painted like Pentagon. He was selling shirts that said Hero Miedo.
