TNA books dream match for Alexander Hammerstone’s debut at Hard to Kill

It’s time for Alexander Hammerstone to back up his bravado. Well-earned bravado, but bravado nonetheless. Hammerstone became a free agent from MLW on January 1. His first promo of the new year was to offer an open challenge. The shark is no longer in a small pond. He is swimming in open waters. A two-time Impact world champion answered the call, and we’ll see if the Hammerhead bit off more than he can chew. Hammerstone will be wrestling Josh Alexander at the TNA Hard to Kill PPV on January 13 in Las Vegas, NV.

Alexander issued a promo response to Hammerstone’s challenge. The Walking Weapon lost of piece of his greatness returning from injury. Alexander is on a quest to reclaim that missing piece of his spirit. It starts with Hammerstone.

TNA made the match official, and Hammerstone commented on his debut.

For those in the know of these two wrestlers, Josh Alexander versus Alexander Hammerstone is in that dream match territory. It’s a first-time matchup between two former world champions. Hammer is going straight to the top to battle the best TNA has to offer. On the flip side, it’s a cool method for Alexander to set up the match as a way to challenge himself.

And to be clear, there is no specific phrasing from TNA in the press release to imply that they signed Hammerstone to a contract.

The current lineup for Hard to Kill on January 13 includes:

  • TNA World Championship: Alex Shelley (c) vs. Moose
  • Knockouts Championship: Trinity (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
  • X-Division Championship: Chris Sabin (c) vs. Kushida vs. Hijo del Vikingo
  • TNA World Tag Team Championship: ABC (c) vs. The Rascalz vs. Speedball Mountain vs. Grizzled Young Veterans
  • Knockouts Ultimate X
  • Josh Alexander vs. Alexander Hammerstone
  • PCO vs. Dango
  • “One of the biggest signings in TNA
  • TNA Digital Media Championship: Tommy Dreamer (c) vs. Crazy Steve in No DQ (pre-show)
  • Rich Swann vs. Steve Maclin (pre-show)
  • Eric Young & Frankie Kazarian vs. Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards (pre-show)
