TNA announces Hard to Kill pre-show matches with Tommy Dreamer title defense

TNAWrestling.com

TNA is going big for the new era of the company at Hard to Kill on January 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada. To hype the occasion, TNA is holding a one-hour countdown pre-show with a handful of matches, including Tommy Dreamer defending the TNA Digital Media Championship.

TNA announced the pre-show lineup to include:

  • TNA Digital Media Championship: Tommy Dreamer (c) vs. Crazy Steve
  • Rich Swann vs. Steve Maclin
  • Eric Young & Frankie Kazarian vs. Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards

The Hard to Kill PPV lineup currently includes:

  • TNA World Championship: Alex Shelley (c) vs. Moose
  • Knockouts Championship: Trinity (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
  • X-Division Championship: Chris Sabin (c) vs. Kushida vs. Hijo del Vikingo
  • Knockouts Ultimate X
  • “One of the biggest signings in TNA

For the pre-show contests, Tommy Dreamer continues his rivalry with Crazzy Steve. The challenger stabbed Dreamer in the back with a fork during a promo exchange. In the title defense, Dreamer was driven to violence to stab Steve with a fork as payback. That action resulted in a disqualification. Now, a rematch is in order for Steve.

Rich Swann and Steve Maclin feuded this same time last year leading to a Falls Count Anywhere match at Hard to Kill 2023. Maclin was victorious. They have not wrestled each other in Impact since that bout. The rivalry will be revisited in 2024.

The tag bout between Eric Young & Frankie Kazarian and Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards is a way to showcase loyal stars on the card for the rebirth of TNA. Young and Kaz are TNA originals. Edwards was once considered the heart and soul of Impact.

TNA will air the countdown show exclusively on the revamped TNA+ app, as explained by the press release:

Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling is back, bigger, better and longer than ever at the HARD TO KILL pay-per-view extravaganza on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The new-look TNA era kicks off with a special 1-Hour COUNTDOWN TO HARD TO KILL Show, starting at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, airing exclusively on the TNA+ app and, in the coming weeks, TNA will announce perks for new TNA+ subscribers.

The Countdown Show features a one-on-one battle of former IMPACT Wrestling World Champions, RICH SWANN vs. STEVE MACLIN. Also scheduled for the Countdown Show: TNA Originals ERIC YOUNG and KAZARIAN team up against BRIAN MYERS and EDDIE EDWARDS (with ALISHA EDWARDS).

Plus, TOMMY DREAMER will defend the Digital Media Championship on the Countdown Show against CRAZZY STEVE.

Additional matches for the Countdown Show will be announced in the coming weeks – and the only way to see the first matches of the new era of TNA Wrestling is to download the app and subscribe.

TNA Wrestling in early December announced that it has partnered with Endeavor Streaming to deliver its global, on-demand streaming service, TNA+, starting on Friday, January 5.
