TNA recently announced the return of Hijo del Vikingo to compete at the Hard to Kill PPV on January 13. Now, we know the opponent for Vikingo.
The mega champion will be wrestling in a title bout, but it won’t be for the AAA belt. Vikingo is challenging for the X-Division Championship in a three-way against reigning titleholder Chris Sabin and Kushida.

That combination of talent is going to produce fireworks in the ring. Sabin, Kushida, and Vikingo are all on the babyface side, so the drama will come out of desire to be the best. Vikingo has only shared the ring once with Sabin when they were trios partners with Alex Shelley at the AAA/Impact joint show taped in November. Vikingo has never encountered Kushida between the ropes. Sabin and Kushida have deep history as allies. They came together with Shelley to form Time Machine in Impact.
Sabin enters as a ten-time X-Division champion. Vikingo is only stopping by for the weekend, so predicting a win for him is a hard sell. Kushida, on other hand, could be in line for gold. He officially signed a contract to be part of the TNA relaunch.
The Hard to Kill PPV on January 13 currently includes:
- TNA World Championship: Alex Shelley (c) vs. Moose
- Knockouts Championship: Trinity (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
- X-Division Championship: Chris Sabin (c) vs. Kushida vs. Hijo del Vikingo
