Impact Wrestling is adding a new championship. They currently have five belts in the mix. The men fight for the world title, X-Division title, and tag titles. The women rumble for the Knockouts title and tag titles. Now, there will be a tournament to crown the inaugural winner for their latest creation.
Introducing the Impact Digital Media Championship.
The name sounds like it was inspired by Zack Ryder’s Internet Championship. Woo, woo, woo, you know it.
Impact also put out a photo of the belt’s design.
Impact is airing a single-elimination tournament through their digital media outlets. The finale will take place at the Bound for Glory PPV on October 23. While the announcement video doesn’t explicitly say intergender action, showing lots of women gives the impression that the new belt is open to the entire roster.
The first two matches have been announced:
- John Skyler vs Zicky Dice
- Hernandez vs Crazzy Steve
