Former World champ injured at Impact tapings, out until 2022 (Possible Spoilers)

New, comments

Impact Wrestling held tapings all weekend long at Skyline Studios in Nashville, but have somehow kept full spoiler reports from getting out for all but the first day of filming.

One big item is making the rounds today (Sept. 20) about something that happened. And unfortunately, it’s not good news.

Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reports that former Impact World champion Sami Callihan suffered a broken ankle while filming on Sat., Sept. 18. There are no details on how the injury took place. It does seem that Callihan already underwent surgery, and he’ll be out for until next spring as he heals up and rehabilitates.

On Impact television, Callihan has been teaming with his former foe Eddie Edwards. The reluctant duo have been feuding with Moose & W. Morrisey, and lost a match to them on the pre-taped Victory Road streaming special that aired Saturday night.

Also effected by the 34 year old’s injury is a planned reunion with his old Switchblade Conspiracy partner Jon Moxley. Sami & Mox were scheduled to take on the similarly reunited American Wolves duo of Edwards & Davey Richards at a Pro Wrestling Revolver show next month. That obviously won’t be happening now.

We’ll keep you posted with any updates on Callihan’s injury, and what it means for Impact and other bookings.
