Impact kicked off their latest taping session at Nashville’s Skyway Studios on Fri., Sept. 17. In addition to material for their weekly Thursday shows, matches & segments were also shot for two Impact Plus streaming specials - tonight’s Victory Road and Knockouts Knockdown.
We still don’t have a date for Knockout Knockdown, but you can find out some of what will happen there - and on the way to Oct. 23’s big Bound For Glory PPV in Las Vegas - with these spoilers, courtesy of Wrestling Observer:
For Victory Road
- Christian Cage def. Ace Austin to retain the Impact World title. X-Division champion Josh Alexander was out for a stare down with Cage after the match in a No DQ match that saw both Chelsea Green and Mahabali Shera get involved.
- Laredo Kid def. Black Taurus, John Skyler, Jake Something & Trey Miguel in a Six Man Scramble Match (this also happened at the last set of tapings, and it’s not clear if this is now a five man, or if the replacement for the wrestler not included in the do over was just omitted from the Observer reader’s report, or...)
- You can find spoilers for the rest of tonight’s card here.
For Knockouts Knockdown
- Gail Kim brought everyone out for a ten bell salute for Daffney
- Rachael Ellering def. Lady Frost
- Chelsea Green def. Renee Michelle
- Mercedes Martinez def. Rosemary
- Tasha Steelz def. Jamie Senegal
- Deonna Purrazzo def. Masha Slamovich to retain the Knockouts title in what was said to be “a great match”. Kim returned and offered Slamovich a contract.
- Awesome Kong is announced as the newest member of the Impact Hall of Fame. She dedicated the honor to Daffney.
- Savannah Evans def. Jordynne Grace, Alisha Edwards & Kimber Lee in Monster’s Ball, pinning Edwards after giving her a Full Nelson Slam onto thumbtacks.
For Impact television
- David Finlay def. Hikuleo. Juice Robinson and Chris Bey were both involved, and a returning El Phantasmo joined his Bullet Club brothers to leave FinJuice laying.
- Josh Alexander def. Ace Austin to earn a World title shot at Bound For Glory. Madman Fulton joined Austin to attack Alexander after the match, and Christian Cage ran in to help the X-Division champ. When Cage & Alexander argued, Austin & Fulton jumped them, which led to Christopher Daniels returning to help the good guys.
