It’s been a good year for women’s wrestling. Following their partners at NWA putting on the Mickie James-produced Empowerrr event, and Ring of Honor rejuvenating their scene under Maria Kanellis-Bennett’s stewardship, Impact announced yesterday (Sept. 13) they’re trusting two of their legends to lead an all-women’s show.
Gail Kim announced the news on Impact’s Facebook. The Hall of Famer was joined by Christy Hemme to share the news of Knockouts Knockdown return to the calendar (the show ran as part of TNA’s old One Night Only series from 2013 - 2017). This year’s version will tape this weekend at Impact’s Nashville home, Skyway Studios. It will stream Oct. 9 on IMPACT Plus and for IMPACT Ultimate Insiders channel on YouTube.
Impact says that Hemme, an original Knockout from the division’s start back in 2007, will have a big role in the special. Knockouts Knockdown will also feature appearances by Mercedes Martinez (who just started taking bookings again after her WWE release over the summer), Lady Frost, and Renee Michelle.
The show will also pay tribute to Shannon “Daffney Unger” Spruill, who died tragically two weeks ago and had an extensive (and not always positive) history with TNA/Impact.

Knockouts champ Deonna Purrazzo will defend the title on Knockouts Knockdown against a mystery opponent.
Sound like another great night for women’s wrestling to you?
