Impact aired one of their streaming specials this past weekend (it was taped after Slammiversary, so spoiler reports had been available for a couple weeks).
Homecoming was built around a mixed tag tournament to crown the first ever Homecoming Queen & King, and that led to a pair of debuts.
Matt Rehwoldt - formerly WWE’s Aiden English - made the biggest splash. Impact started teasing The Drama King’s arrival on the July 17 Slammiversary PPV, and he debuted as Deonna Purrazzo’s partner for the Homecoming tournament.

The pair went all the way, defeating Rosemary & Crazzy Steve to take the crowns.

En route to the finals, Purrazzo & Rehwoldt defeated Hernandez & Alisha Edwards, and Matt Cardona & Chelsea Green.
The other surprise entrant didn’t fare as well. Not that it was her fault. Brian Myers’ brought in WCW & ECW manager/valet Missy Hyatt, but failed to realize Missy was never known for her in-ring skills. The duo lost to Tommy Dreamer & Rachael Ellering (doing a Road Warriors thing) in the first round.
