Impact Wrestling spoilers: Christian Cage’s first acts as champ

Impact’s Twitter

The second day of Impact’s latest taping session at Nashville’s Skyway Studios was highlighted by the arrival of new champ Christian Cage. That included defending one of the belts he won from Kenny Omega on AEW Rampage last Friday, and announcing the fate of the other.

What will we see the Instant Classic do on upcoming episodes of Impact, and this Friday’s Emergence streaming special? You can find out with these spoilers, courtesy of Impact Asylum:

For Impact television

- Christian Cage comes out to celebrate his win, and says they’re retiring the TNA Heavyweight championship (which Moose brought back last year, and which was only sanctioned just before it was unified with Rich Swann’s Impact World title in their feud earlier this year). Ring announcer David Penzer took that belt to the back. Brian Meyers then showed up Sam Beale for build to Cage vs. Meyers at Emergence.

- Chris Sabin def. Sami Callihan. Moose showed up afterwards to attack both men. Eddie Edwards saved Callihan from getting a chair stomped into his face.

- Mickie James is out for NWA Empowerrr hype, calling out Deonna Purrazzo. Purrazzo attacks James, but Melina & Trey Miguel chase off the Knockouts champ & Drama King Matt Rehwoldt.

- Rich Swann & Willie Mack def. The Good Brothers in a non-title match. Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson jump Swann & Mack after the match, eventually putting them through a table.

- Rohit Raju & Shera def. Matt Cardona & Chelsea Green

- Jordynne Grace, Rachael Ellering & Taylor Wilde def. Tenille Dashwood, Madison Rayne and Kaleb with a K

- Moose def. Eddie Edwards thanks to a distraction by W. Morrissey, who accompanied Moose for the match. That led to a big brawl which included Ace Austin, Madman Fulton Christian Cage, Brian Myers, Sam Beale, Josh Alexander and others. It ended with the babyfaces standing tall.

- Taylor Wilde def. Tenille Dashwood

- Decay def. Fallah Bahh & No Way

- Moose is back in street clothes for a promo. He calls out Eddie Edwards, who comes out for a kendo stick attack, but ends up getting beaten down by Moose & Morrissey.

- Josh Alexander def. Jake Crist, who answered an open challenge from the X-Division champ.

- Alexander cut a post-match promo about being a fighting champ. Chris Sabin appears to issue a challenge for Victory Road, September’s Impact Plus streaming special. Alexander accepts.

- John Skyler def. Laredo Kid, rolling him up while trying to remove his mask

- Good Brothers promo about having put Willie Mack in the hospital. Rich Swann attacks them with a chair.

- Trey Miguel def. Matt Rehwoldt. Deonna Purrazzo tries to attack Miguel afterwards, but Mickie James stops her and the two women fight.

- Steve Maclin def. Petey Williams, who was distracted by Fallah Bahh & No Way’s conga line.

For Emergence

- Decay def. Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans, Fallah Bahh & No Way

- Christian Cage def. Brian Meyers to retain the Impact World championship

For Before The Impact

- Jake Something def. John Skyler
