W. Morrissey pins three men to prepare for fight at Impact Slammiversary

W. Morrissey is a wrecking ball, but he is also a considerate fellow. Even though Morrissey ruined the fantasy match between Eddie Edwards and Satoshi Kojima last week, he was kind enough to accept Edwards’ challenge for a match at Slammiversary on July 17.

Not only did Morrissey accept, he helped Edwards prepare from his hospital bed for their match by beating up three men as an example of what will happen at Slammiversary. The 7-footer backed up his bravado by pummeling the poor souls. Morrissey blitzed through his opponents with a chokeslam, powerbomb, and F5 to stack the bodies for a triple pin.

In addition to that match, other fights were fleshed out throughout the evening for Slammiversary. The card currently includes:

  • Impact World Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Sami Callihan
  • Knockouts Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. mystery opponent
  • X-Division Championship in Ultimate X: Josh Alexander (c) vs. Trey Miguel vs. Ace Austin vs. Chris Bey vs. Rohit Raju vs. Petey Williams
  • World Tag Team Championship: Violent by Design (c) vs. Good Brothers vs. Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs. TJP & Fallah Bahh
  • Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz (c) vs. Rosemary & Havok
  • Moose vs. Chris Sabin
  • W. Morrissey vs. Eddie Edwards

Purrazzo ran her mouth, so Gail Kim returned to propose a mystery opponent for the PPV. Kim clarified that it won’t be herself. Good Brothers, Rich Swann & Willie Mack, and TJP & Fallah Bahh were squawking about who is the rightful #1 contender to the tag titles, so a four-way was made official. Rosemary & Havok defeated Kimber Lee & Susan to prove their value as a team. The win catapulted them into Knockouts tag title contention.

Were you impressed by Morrissey’s manhandling? How many men should he beat up next week? How does the Slammiversary card stack up so far?
