MJF’s lawyer is the latest AEW crossover into Impact

Just when you thought the relationship between Impact and AEW might have chilled, Impact pulled out a blast from AEW’s short past as a surprise. During the Impact Wrestling broadcast tonight (Feb. 23, 2021), MJF’s lawyer made an appearance to advise his newest client, Brian Myers.

Last we saw Mark Stirling, Esquire, he was on the losing end of a Paradigm Shift from Jon Moxley. Stirling returned to televised wrestling by backing Myers. The former Curt Hawkins received a recommendation for the services of Stirling from his past student, MJF.

Myers was claiming an eye injury to weasel out of a bout with Eddie Edwards. Stirling successfully did his job to get his client out of the match. Hernandez was called in as an injury replacement. Unfortunately for Myers, Hernandez couldn’t finish off Edwards. Eddie won with a flying Boston Knee Party.

Backstage, Stirling’s reading skills were called into question by bungling the 17H clause. The fine print actually states that the Impact doctor has the final call on clearing Myers. That led to Impact EVP Scott D’Amore booking Myers versus Edwards for next week with Matt Cardona as special referee, while also poking fun at AEW and WWE for their versions of Eye for an Eye matches.

The Tonys got their turn to poke fun at Impact. In another paid commercial, Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone brought friends this time. Dr. Britt Baker DMD, Reba, Ricky Starks, Brian Cage, Ryan Nemeth, Isiah Kassidy, and Matt Hardy were on hand to promote the card for Dynamite. Baker, Starks, and Cage all turned jokes at Impact’s expense.

Did you get a kick out of MJF’s lawyer being brought in to the shared universe between AEW, Impact, and NJPW? Which obscure character would you like to see next in line to cross over?
