Impact books Monster’s Ball match in honor of Daffney at Knockouts Knockdown

Impact’s all-women Knockouts Knockdown special event is right around the corner for Saturday, October 9. The lineup filled out during this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, and it included a Monster’s Ball match.

To honor the memory of Daffney, Impact announced they would hold a Monster’s Ball during Knockouts Knockdown. The participants include the unlikeliest Knockout on the roster for the extreme hardcore fight. Alisha Edwards isn’t known as a dynamo in the ring, but she is a stand-up lady when it comes to defending her friends.

Alisha had been working in Johnny Swinger’s illegal underground casino to pay off a gambling debt. It was there that she struck a bond with the Swingerellas. A few weeks back, Su Yung’s minions kidnapped Swingerella #3 to collect her soul.

On the latest Impact Wrestling, Alisha came swinging a kendo stick to get revenge on undead brides Kimber Lee and Brandi Lauren.

Alisha was carried to the back by security, but she wasn’t content to leave the matter alone. Gail Kim intervened to book Alisha in a Monster’s Ball against Kimber Lee, Jordynne Grace, and Savannah Evans.

Grace and Evans don’t have much to do with this specific story, but they should definitely add oomph to the action.

In other Knockouts developments, Deonna Purrazzo was punished for traveling to Mickie James’ horse farm and starting a cinematic brawl. James was wild with rage, so Scott D’Amore instituted a no-contact clause prior to their Knockouts Championship showdown at Bound for Glory on October 23. In the meantime, he allowed James to pick an opponent for Purrazzo at Knockouts Knockdown.

Taylor Wilde is the only Impact regular not officially on the card yet, however, James could open the Forbidden Door for a pal from the NWA.

The advertised lineup for Knockouts Knockdown includes:

• Knockouts Tag Team Championship: Rosemary & Havok (c) vs. Tenille Dashwood & Madison Rayne
• Monster’s Ball: Alisha Edwards vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Savannah Evans vs. Kimber Lee
• Pick Your Poison: Deonna Purrazzo vs. TBA (Mickie James’ choice)
• Tournament: Mercedes Martinez, Lady Frost, Renee Michelle, Jamie Senegal, Tasha Steelz, Chelsea Green, Rachael Ellering, Brandi Lauren (winner earns a future Knockouts title shot)
• Commentary: Veda Scott and Mickie James
• Ring announcer: Melissa Santos

In addition, Impact’s resident rumor scooper George Iceman confirmed the reveal of the next Hall of Fame inductee happening at Knockouts Knockdown. He teased it possibly being, “The World’s Most Dangerous Woman.”

Knockouts Knockdown airs Saturday, October 9 at 8 pm ET through the Impact Plus app.
