It has been a big week for Kylie Rae. First, she revealed a real life engagement for marriage. Now, she is cashing in her #1 contender status to challenge Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Championship at Impact’s Bound for Glory PPV on October 24.
Rae and Purrazzo had been ringside for Susie versus Kimber Lee to support their friends accordingly. Purrazzo’s attempts at interference backfired to cost Lee the match. The champ then attacked both Kylie and Susie after the bell. She snatched Susie’s limb for an armbar, so Kylie kicked Purrazzo in the head. Rae had enough of Purrazzo’s bullying and declared her title intentions.

That makes two championship contests for the Bound for Glory official card so far:
- Impact World Championship: Eric Young (c) vs Rich Swann
- Knockouts Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs Kylie Rae
The Knockouts bout wasn’t the only major match announcement during Impact Wrestling.
Eddie Edwards made a surprise return to chase off Eric Young from attacking executive vice president Scott D’Amore. Edwards demanded and received a rematch for the Impact World Championship against Young. That bout is scheduled to take place on October 3 at the Victory Road event, exclusively on the Impact Plus app.

Depending on the outcome of Edwards versus Young, it could throw a wrinkle into the previously announced title defense for Young against Rich Swann at Bound for Glory.
