Eric Young is one of the most expected names for a surprise appearance at Impact’s Slammiversary PPV on July 18. What better way for Impact to stoke that fire than by counting down his 5 greatest moments.
5. EY marries ODB - Impact! (Apr. 12, 2012)
4. Team Canada wins tag titles - Impact! (Oct. 14, 2004)
3. Young outsmarts Kevin Nash for Legends Championship - TNA Bound for Glory (Oct. 18, 2009)
2. EY flying off a cage - TNA Slammiversary (June 15, 2014)
1. Young wins World Championship from Nick Aldis - Impact! (Apr. 10, 2014)
Eric Young is the perfect example of a comedy act transcending into a top player. He has won 7 different titles in TNA/Impact, which includes the Knockouts Tag Team Championship and the World Beer Drinking Championship. I was hoping for the beer drinking belt to make the list. He also won the Turkey Bowl, World Cup of Wrestling, and King of the Mountain. Young climbed the charts to be ranked #19 in the 2014 PWI top 500. That’s all very impressive, however, for my money, nothing will beat getting married in his undies to ODB.
If Young does return to Impact on July 18, it will be interesting to see how many more achievements he can add to his career resume. Impact is a little weak at the top right now, so he could slide right into main event feuds and not be out of place.
Impact also posted a video with all the Slammiversary title wins. This year’s show is guaranteed to have a new Impact World Champion after Tessa Blanchard was fired. The main event will be Ace Austin vs Eddie Edwards vs Trey Miguel vs a mystery opponent.
What would you like to see from Eric Young if he returns to Impact? Where does he fit in the pecking order? Could there be a another World Championship reign in Young’s future?
