Anthem issues statement regarding sexual misconduct accusations against members of the Impact roster

Several members of the Impact Wrestling roster have been accused of sexual misconduct in the past, and the #SpeakingOut movement brought fresh allegations about three men.

  • A woman accused Dave Crist of predatory behavior while she was his trainee, and shared stories of others with similar experiences. Rockstar Pro Wrestling has announced their severing ties with Crist’s OI4K Wrestling Academy.
  • Joey Ryan is said to have groped a female wrestler and pressured her for sex.
  • Michael Elgin, who in 2017 was the center of a story many thought might lead to wrestling’s #MeToo movement, allegedy sent unsolicted pictures of his genitals to another wrestler in 2016.

In response to these, and the current moment, Impact’s parent company released the following statement yesterday (Fri., June 19):

“It is a core value of the Anthem organization that we conduct our business with respect and integrity, providing a safe and secure work environment for our employees and performers.

We are following carefully the various allegations being made through social media, and are reviewing all incidents involving Impact Wrestling talent and personnel to determine an appropriate course of action.”

None of the three men mentioned above have commented on the allegations against them or the #SpeakingOut movement.
