Heath will get one final shot at an Impact contract

Just when you thought Heath was out, Impact pulls him back in. It is now or never for Heath’s final opportunity to earn a contract.

Last we saw Heath and his adventures trying to secure a contract with Impact Wrestling, it ended with a hissy fit from EVP Scott D’Amore in contract negotiations. D’Amore had one monetary value in mind, while Heath had a much larger number. D’Amore threw the contract papers into the air and stormed out. A discouraged Heath went on to blame Rhino for his advice to leave a WWE offer and come to Impact instead.

Rhino took Heath’s disappointment to heart and made a special deal to get Heath one last shot at an Impact contract. On tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling (Oct. 13, 2020), Rhino was the bringer of good news, however, there was a catch. Not just one catch, but two.

Rhino pulled some strings to get Heath a spot in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match at the Bound for Glory PPV on October 24. If either of them wins, then Heath will get a contract with Impact. It won’t be any old contract. It will be the one that Heath brought last week with the big money figure.

The catch is that if they don’t win, then there will be no more opportunities in Impact for Heath. After Heath exited the scene with new hope, D’Amore popped in to chat with Rhino. He reminded Rhino of the second catch, which Rhino agreed to. If they don’t win, then Rhino’s contract is cut. Heath is currently unaware of the sacrifice Rhino put on the table.

Rhino sure is a swell guy. For good times and bad times, Rhino will be on Heath’s side forever more. That’s what friends are for.

Later in the show, Heath went out and picked up the win in ten-man action with Call Your Shot Gauntlet participants.

Next week, Heath will have an opportunity to win the 20th entrance spot for the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. If he wins the five-way against Rhino, Cousin Jake, Hernandez, and Alisha Edwards, that spot is his. Whoever takes the loss will enter first.

For the sake of clarification, a gauntlet match in Impact is equal to a Royal Rumble. The difference is the final two square off in a regular match at the end. The winner will earn a title shot for any belt of their choosing.

The current Bound for Glory card on October 24 is:

  • Impact World Championship: Eric Young (c) vs Rich Swann
  • Knockouts Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs Kylie Rae
  • Tag Team Championship: Motor City Machine Guns (c) vs Good Brothers vs The North vs Ace Austin & Madman Fulton
  • X-Division Championship Scramble: Rohit Raju (c) vs Jordynne Grace vs Willie Mack vs Chris Bey vs TJP vs Trey Miguel
  • EC3 vs Moose at an undisclosed location
  • Ken Shamrock vs Eddie Edwards
  • Call Your Shot Gauntlet: Heath, Rhino, Tommy Dreamer, Brian Myers, Cody Deaner, Cousin Jake, Johnny Swinger, Hernandez, Alisha Edwards, Tenille Dashwood, plus 10 more

What odds do you give for Heath or Rhino to win the Call Your Shot Gauntlet match? Are you rooting for Heath? Or do you just want to watch his world burn?
