Impact Wrestling’s top 10 matches of the decade

Impact Wrestling revealed their top 10 list for matches of the decade, as voted on by fans. If you like crazy highlights, then this is the video for you. There were powerbombs off ladders through tables, a moonsault off the top of a cage, a cutter off the stage, a dive from a tree, fireworks attacks, and much more.

The full list is as follows:

10. Full Metal Mayhem: LAX vs Lucha Bros - Rebellion - April 28, 2019

9. Steel Cage: Kurt Angle vs Mr. Anderson - TNA Lockdown - April 18, 2010

8. Last Knockout Standing: Gail Kim vs Taryn Terrell - TNA Slammiversary - June 2, 2013

7. World Championship: Bobby Roode vs Austin Aries - TNA Destination X - July 8, 2012

6. Sami Callihan vs Tessa Blanchard - Slammiversary - July 7, 2019

5. Mask vs Hair: Pentagon vs Sami Callihan - Slammiversary - July 22, 2018

4. Full Metal Mayhem: Hardys vs Team 3D vs Wolves - Impact Wrestling - October 8, 2014

3. Best 2-of-3 Falls: Motor City Machine Guns vs Beer Money - TNA Impact!: The Whole F’n Show - August 12, 2010

2. World Championship: AJ Styles vs Kurt Angle - TNA Impact! - January 4, 2010

1. The Final Deletion: Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy - Impact Wrestling - July 5, 2016

I’m not well versed in Impact lore to make suggestions for the list, but I do have three takeaways. First, nothing was going to top The Final Deletion. In spots 2 and 3, it is interesting that they are pure wrestling bouts. That goes to show how great they were without the addition of insane spots like much on the rest of the list.

Second, the way Kurt Angle defeated Ken Anderson in their cage match was perfect. Angle choked Anderson unconscious then stepped on his balls when exiting the cage door. That is the kind of definitive finish a cage match deserves.

Third, my appreciation for Sami Callihan has increased. My viewing experience with Callihan was seeing him as a side guy in Lucha Underground and a sweaty warthog in MLW. Callihan floated under my radar until news of him becoming Impact World Champion. I was left thinking it was an interesting choice to make and wondering how he got to that position. After seeing the highlights against Pentagon and Tessa Blanchard, I now see why. He fought with true grit and determination. It was impressive. He’s still gross though with his slobbery spit.

If you are interested in seeing the full matches, they are available on the Impact Plus app. The app has a $7.99 monthly fee, but they do have a free 30 day trial.

What do you think of Impact Wrestling’s top 10 matches of the decade? Which matches are missing from the list?
