Impact Wrestling Ratings (Sept. 20, 2018): Viewership can’t compete with the Jared Goff Show

The numbers are in for last night’s Thursday night lineup and Impact viewership continued to decline. Viewership dipped from 229K to 222K. However, the rating number representing the coveted 18-49 year old demographic ticked up from 0.05 to 0.06.

Impact was up against a tough Thursday Night Football game between the Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings. This was a game that could be a preview of a late playoff game and is actually one of the better games on entire NFL docket this week. As an LA Rams fan, even I had the game up on my iPad as worked the Impact live blog.

Said game was also on Fox, which means it was in more houses than games only on NFL Network and pulled in about 10 million. It was also a very entertaining, high scoring affair. The Rams system QB very talented passer racked up five touchdowns, four in the first half. But it was never a blowout.

It’s tough to compete with plays like this:

Impact advertised a Knockouts title match, but not one that had any real question in regards to the outcome given the challenger isn’t in the promotion. (It was still a good match.) Next week doesn’t have anything too impactful advertised, though Joe Hendry will be facing a luchador known as Murder Clown. Murder, like what Jared Goff and the Rams did to the Vikings secondary.

OK, I swear I’m done.

The numbers from the last month:

  • This week: 222K / 0.06
  • Sept. 20: 229K / 0.05
  • Sept. 13: 258K / 0.07
  • Sept. 6: 236K / 0.05
  • Aug. 30: 225K / 0.07
