Despite presenting a crossover between two promotions who’s relationship was once so acrimonious one forced the other to edit a bunch of episodes to remove a talent from our screens, the buzz for IMPACT Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground on Friday, April 6 hasn’t exactly been deafening.
Looking to change that, the companies announced four more matches for the card, and a wrinkle from their broadcasting partner which sounds pretty fun.
First, the new matches for the show at The Sugar Mill in New Orleans:
Scott Steiner and Teddy Hart vs. oVe (Jake and Dave Crist)
Brian Cage vs. Eli Drake
Trevor Lee vs. Famous B
Moose vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs. Matt Sydal vs. Jack Evans vs. Caleb Konley vs. Matanza Cueto/Jeff Cobb
Those join the already announced:
Austin Aries and Rey Fenix vs. Alberto El Patron and Penta 0M (aka Pentagon Jr.)
LAX (Santana and Ortiz) (c) vs. Lucha Underground’s The Mack (aka Willie Mack) and Killshot (Shane Strickland) for the Impact Tag Team Championship
Taya Valkyrie vs. Allie (c) for the Knockouts Title
LU’s Aerostar & King Cuerno & Drago vs. DJZ & Andrew Everett & Dezmond Xavier
Eddie Edwards vs. Jeremiah Crane (aka Sami Callihan) in an ‘I Quit’ Match
If none of that does it for you, Twitch - the streaming site which will be broadcasting the show live on Impact’s channel at 10PM Eastern - announced you’ll be able to call the action yourself while you watch!
“As any wrestling fan knows, the person calling the match can make a huge difference. So we’re putting the power of the microphone directly into your hands with co-streaming enabled for all of IMPACT!’s WrestleCon coverage, including the Lucha Underground vs IMPACT! event on April 6. Put your spin on the broadcasts with play-by-play, color commentary, or whatever else you want to bring to the party. If you decide to co-stream, please include #impactwrestling in the title and make sure any VODs aren’t being saved.”
Pretty cool, no? Cool enough to get you to turn off the Hall of Fame Ceremony on WWE Network?
