Impact Wrestling spoilers from April 25: Slammiversary build begins

Impact Wrestling’s Twitter

Impact Wrestling continued building out from their Redemption pay-per-view (PPV), and toward July’s Slammiversary, with the third night of their second taping under the direction of Don Callis and Scott D’Amore. Big things happened on the Tuesday, April 25 tapings - what went down Wednesday night at Universal Studios?

That’s what we’re here to tell you, Cagesiders.

These results are compiled from a variety of live reports - including Twitter accounts of fans who were in Orlando, like Jacob Cohen - which are subject to a couple levels of interpretation, and final production of the material for airing on television usually changes context, so...

Take these with a grain of salt, is all I’m saying. Still the big matches, winners/losers and story beats are here.

Filmed April 25:

- Petey Williams def. Jake Crist (Xplosion)

- Fact of Life with Eli Drake returns. Drake says he dealt with his Scott Steiner problem and runs down Impact’s Top 5 Dummies: the fans, Austin Aries, Impact management, the fans again and Moose. It’s revealed Eli vs. Moose will happen at a future taping, with the winner getting a Slammiversary World title match against Austin Aries. Moose arrives to make fun of Drake for losing all the show’s titles. He gets cheap shotted to end the segment.

- LAX def. Cult of Lee (Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley); Eddie Kingston is back, and a member of LAX

- Taya Valkyrie def. Rebel; in a post-match promo, Taya welcomes Madison Rayne back to her kingdom, and promises to show Rayne why she’s Lucha and Knockouts royalty “next week”

- Brian Cage def. Dezmond Xavier

- Madison Rayne def. Tessa Blanchard

- Cult of Lee (Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley) def. KM and Fallah Baah; Baah somehow “accidentally” Samoan dropped KM to lead to the finish. KM pushed Fallah after the loss and told him he’ll always be a loser.

- Katarina Leigh def. Scarlett Bordeaux (Xplosion)

- Brian Cage def. Rohit Raju

- Matt Sydal comes out to promo on Cage. The X-Division Champ says he has strength, but when he uses his inner-eye, Sydal sees Cage’s inner weakness. He can make him strong inside and out, but he’ll have to give up his X-Division title shot. The big man responds by F5-ing Sydal.

- Z & E (DJZ and Andrew Everett) def. Drago and Aerostar; Aerostar was reportedly injured during the match. He was helped to the back by Sonjay Dutt, Scott D’Amore and Valkyrie.

- Moose def. Kongo Kong

- Eli Drake def. Scott Steiner

- Matt Sydal def. El Hijo del Fantasma to retain the X-Division Title

- Grado def. Rohit Raju (Xplosion)
