Pentagon Jr. wins the Impact world title

Wow! Didn’t see this one coming!

In tonight’s (Apr. 22) Redemption pay-per-view (PPV), Pentagon Jr. defeated both Fenix and Impact champion Austin Aries to win the company’s top prize.

In a match that wasn’t even booked until two weeks ago when Impact released Alberto El Patron, the three men put on a hell of a show. In the end, Pentagon delivered a double Gory Special/Package Piledriver to Fenix and Aries at the same time.

Then he set up Aries for the arm breaker, which he made famous in Lucha Underground. After successfully delivering that to Aries, either breaking or dislocating his arm, he delivered the Pentagon Driver to the former champion to win the title.

This was quite the way to close out the Redemption PPV. This Thursday will start Impact’s era of Pentagon.

It looks like that Lucha Underground/Impact partnership sure is a strong one.
