Impact’s next PPV keeps adding Lucha Underground stars

ImpactWrestling.com

You’d think replacing Alberto El Patron with Fenix and Pentagon, Jr. as Austin Aries’ World Title opponents at Sunday, April 22’s Redemption pay-per-view (PPV) would be enough, but Impact keeps building more bridges to Boyle Heights.

Aerostar and Drago teamed with King Cuerno (who wrestles on Impact as El Hijo del Fantasma) at the Impact vs. Lucha Underground WrestleCon show on WrestleMania weekend, and now they’ll face one another at Redemption in a match which is essentially an Lucha Underground presentation on an Impact card.

It also adds to what’s become a strangely compelling line-up for the show from Orlando, which features stars from other countries, promotions and eras:

- Drago vs. Aerostar
- Ishimori vs. Dezmond Xavier vs. El Hijo del Fantasma vs. Brian Cage vs. DJZ vs. Trevor Lee
- oVe (Dave Crist, Jake Crist, and Sami Callihan) vs. Tommy Dreamer, Moose, and Eddie Edwards in a House of Hardcore match
- Allie (c) vs. Su Yung for the Knockouts Title
- LAX (c) vs. Eli Drake and Scott Steiner for the Impact Tag Team Championship
- Matt Sydal (c) vs. Petey Williams for the X-Division Title
- Austin Aries vs. Pentagon vs. Fenix for the Impact World Championship
