The first change of the Scott D’Amore & Don Callis era of Impact Wrestling was revealed today.
That came with the announcement of a new pay-per-view (PPV ) named Redemption. This wasn’t news for those who followed the recent spoiler reports as the recent tapings were building to this show. But this reveals the official date and venue.

On their teleconference call today, they announced the PPV for April 22 and it will emanate from Orlando, Florida. Orlando is the home of most of their television tapings in the Impact Zone at Universal Studios. PWInsider reports there were earlier talks to hold the show in Toronto, but that never got off the ground.
This is the first time in years that Impact is running a live PPV that isn’t one of their “big two” (Slammiversary and Bound for Glory). Outside those two PPVs, the promotion would designate television episodes, often named after old PPVs, that would act as their big events.
This could be a good change for the company. Moving from two PPVs a year to say four or five gives the promotion a place for big storylines to culminate that isn’t at the end of a marathon TV taping, when the crowd is usually burned out and the events long spoiled by the time the air.
What do you think? Curious about a new Impact PPV?
