Impact Wrestling spoilers from Nov. 11: Title matches made during PPV build in Vegas

Impact on Twitter

Impact Wrestling set up shop in Las Vegas for a couple days worth of television taping largely focused on setting up their Homecoming pay-per-view (PPV), set for Jan. 6 in their old Nashville stomping grounds.

What happened on Sunday night in Sam’s Town Live?

That’s what we’re here to tell you, Cagesiders.

These results are compiled from a variety of live reports which are subject to a couple levels of interpretation, and final production of the material for airing on television usually changes context, so...

Take these with a grain of salt, is all I’m saying. Still the big matches, winners/losers and story beats are here.

Filmed Nov. 11:

- Pillars of Destiny (Hunter Gray & Paul Titan) def. The One Percent (Joerel Nelson & Royce Isaacs) (taped for Xplosion)

- Tag champs LAX (with Konnan) def. Fallah Bahh & KM

- Knockouts champ Tessa Blanchard def. Ray Lyn

- Tessa cuts a promo on Taya Valkyrie claiming she’s only Johnny’s wife and makes too many excuses. Taya runs in to say she’s proud to be Mrs. Impact and puts herself over as the Queen of Lucha Libre. This sets up a Knockouts title match at Homecoming.

- World champ Johnny Impact def. Matt Sydal (with Ethan Page); Impact wins after Page saves Sydal after taking Johnny’s finisher, then Impact brawls with Page and hits a second Starship Pain.

- Killer Kross came out to offer his services to Impact as back-up. The crowd is into it, but Johnny says he knows Kross in a way the fans don’t. He doesn’t trust him, so Impact leaves Kross in the ring.

- An Eli Drake segement following up on his “unsafe work environment” angle lets him claim to have ended Abyss’ career. He’s going to kill all of the gimmicks in wrestling, including the hardcore style. That brings out Tommy Dreamer to defend the style and its fans, giving a history lesson and challenging Drake to a fight. Eli bails.

- Su Yung def. Heather Monroe

- Yung keeps Monroe in a submission until Kiera Hogan runs in to stop her. Allie showed up (she may have come out with Kiera? reports vary) and either joined Su in beating down Hogan or just stood there and watched it happen. She definitely left with Yung afterwards.

- Lucha Bros (Fenix & Pentagon) def. Rich Swann & Willie Mack in what was described as the best match of the night.

- LAX came out to offer congrats, and challenge Lucha Bros to a match at Homecoming.

- Jordynne Grace def. Katarina

- The Rascalz (Desmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) def. Chris Bey & Mike Sydal

- Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju & Raj Singh) def. Damian Drake & Manny Lemons

- X-Division champ Brian Cage def. Sami Callihan (with oVe)

- To close the night, Cage says he’s using the belt to get a shot at the World title, so I guess “Option C” works any time now? Or Homecoming is the new Destination X?

Another couple shows in the books. What do you think?
