Impact Wrestling spoilers from Jan. 13 - 14: Departures, arrivals and a new PPV

Sami Callihan on Twitter

Impact Wrestling continued their march toward April 22’s LockdownRedemption pay-per-view (PPV) with a weekend of filming at Universal Studios in Orlando. These episodes, from the first batch under the direction of Don Callis and Scott D’Amore, probably won’t air until February or March.

Results are compiled from a variety of live reports, which are subject to a couple levels of interpretation, and final production of the material for airing on television usually changes context, so...

Take these with a grain of salt, is all I’m saying. Still the big matches, winners/losers and story beats are here.

Filmed Saturday, Jan. 13:

- El Hijo del Fantasma def. Braxton Sutter (Exclusive for Global Wrestling Network)

- Eddie Edwards def. Sami Callihan. Afterwards, Callihan attacked Edwards with a baseball bat. The spot went wrong and Edwards was taken to the hospital for stitches and (reportedly) multiple broken bones, including his nose.

- Eli Drake, EC3, Moose, and Petey Williams collect cases in a Feast or Fired match which also included Rohit Raju, Taiji Ishimori, Trevor Lee, Caleb Konley, KM and Tyrus.

- Taya Valkyrie vs. Rosemary ended in a double count-out. A post-match brawl was won by Taya.

- Jimmy Jacobs is out with Kongo Kong, claiming innocent people got hurt (by them) because Joseph Park wouldn’t deliver Abyss to them. James Mitchell shows up to tell Jacobs they have a lot in common, but Jimmy messed and pushed Park too far. Abyss is here to attack Kong. This sets up a Monster’s Ball match for later.

- Matt Sydal thanks Josh Mathews for being his spirit guide and helping him to his recent success. Mathews comes out and says he’s trying to enlighten the masses. Matt gives Josh the Grand championship belt, saying he’s the champ.

- Tyrus def. EC3

- Allie def. Sienna to retain the Knockouts title

- Afterwards, Sutter arrives to explain to the champ how he’s reevaluating his life, but accidentally calls her Laurel during his speech. He proposes, but Su Yung attacks Allie before she can respond.

- The next PPV gets its title match as a promo segment sets up Austin Aries vs. Alberto El Patron. They both put each other, but El Patron says Aries can’t be champion until he beats him. They shake on the match for Redemption.

- Caleb Konley def. Fallah Bahh (Global Wrestling Network)

- Matt Sydal def. Rohit Raju to retain the X Division Title

- Aries and El Patron get a contract signing segment with some posturing from both but no violence.

- Feast or Fired reveals with Drake getting a tag title shot, Williams a X-Division one, Moose the World championship opportunity and EC3 getting the pink slip (and a beating from Brian Cage).

- Kongo Kong def. Abyss in Monster’s Ball

Filmed Sunday, Jan. 14:

- Taya Valkyrie defeated Alisha Edwards (Xplosion)

- Sami Callihan def. Fallah Bahh. oVe goes for the beatdown afterwards, but Eddie returns, with a bat, natch, to make the save.

- Petey Williams def. Rohit Raju, Suicide, and Taiji Ishimori. Post-match, he says he’s cashing in his briefcase at Redemption against X-Division champ Matt Sydal.

- Su Yung def. Amber Nova

- Brian Cage def. Bobby Lashley

- Trevor Lee def. Fallah Bahh

- Allie comes out to announce she’s not afraid of monsters, and calls out Yung

- Allie def. Su Yung via disqualification when Yung attacks her opponent and the referee with a kendo stick

- Johnny Impact def. Taiji Ishimori, then Jacobs and Kong are out to confront him. Kong attacks but Johnny holds his own, so Jimmy takes his monster to the back.

- Segment starts with KM making fun of Richard Justice for being fat. He sucker punches Justice, which brings out Bahh. Cult of Lee come in to attack Fallah, but Tyrus makes the save. He tells the crowd he’s not cool with bullying.

- LAX def. Braxton Sutter and KM (Global Wrestling Network)

- Lashley says his loss to Cage was a fluke, and demands a rematch

- Cage def. Lashley. This is followed by Lashley saying goodbye.

- Austin Aries def. Matt Sydal in a title vs. title match. Aries is now World and Grand champion.

- Alberto El Patron def. El Hijo del Fantasma and pulls his mask off afterwards (Global Wrestling Network)
