EC3 done with Impact Wrestling

EC3

According to multiple reports, EC3 is now officially done with Impact Wrestling after the latest set of tapings for upcoming television episodes.

PW Insider reports his contract wasn’t set to run out until the summer but he was granted an early release. According to the Wrestling Observer, his contract was up before the next set of tapings and it was known he wouldn’t be renewing so they wrote him off television.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

The way they wrote him off was the Feast or Fired gimmick, where four wrestlers win briefcases and three of them contain title shots while the other contains a pink slip. Moose got a world title match, Petey Williams an X Division match, and Eli Drake a tag team title match. That left EC3 with the “Fired” case.

He cut a promo and attacked Jeremy Borash before Brian Cage took him out.

EC3 languished in WWE development for years as Derrick Bateman before finally moving on and making a name for himself with TNA. He has done legitimately great work as a character for a long time now and with the Royal Rumble coming up, the time is right for him to make a surprise return.

Stay tuned.
