Impact Wrestling started their latest new era this week with the first nights of taping under the direction of Don Callis and Scott D’Amore. Just based off results, these don’t feel particularly groundbreaking. But as covered elsewhere, these shows won’t air for a week or two yet, so that may be by design.
Results tweeted by fan accounts like TheRogueFan and Jacob Cohen seemed to indicate fewer promos and in-ring story development segments than at past tapings, which may be an indication that bigger beats will happen backstage and be edited into these shows when they do start airing at the end of this month.
That’s just speculation though. Plus, we’re a little behind, and there’s a lot to cover, so we’re going to dive right in.
Aside from a couple things Impact has spoiled themselves (the biggest one we covered here, the other via a tweet of their embedded below), these results are compiled from a variety of live reports, which are subject to a couple levels of interpretation, and final production of the material for airing on television usually changes context, so...
Take these with a grain of salt, is all I’m saying. Still the big matches, winners/losers and story beats are here.
