The viewership totals and ratings are in for last night’s line up (Aug. 24) and Impact Wrestling’s numbers were down this week. The viewership was 296K, which is down from the 320K their live-ish episode brought in last week. The rating number was down to 0.06 from 0.07.
Despite being taped last week, this episode had a lot going for it. They advertised a 20-man match to crown a new heavyweight champion and it was the debut of John Morrison to the promotion. Spoilers were out for the winner though. While it was really great to see Eli Drake pick up the top prize, he’s not a name that more casual fans may know and go out of their way to tune into to see win.
Plus, live show often just do better because there’s a lot of unknown to it. And with nothing advertised yet for next week, there’s no reason to expect a big jump back up.
The numbers from the last month:
- This week: 296K / 0.06
- August 17: 320K / 0.07
- August 10: 277K / 0.07
- August 3: 276K / 0.06
- July 27: 286K / 0.06
