GFW Impact Wrestling spoilers from Aug. 22: Finishing the Bound for Glory build

GFW’s Impact Wrestling wrapped up a marathon taping on Tuesday at Orlando’s Universal Studios backlot (aka the Impact Zone). This should take them all the way to Nov. 5’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view (PPV).

These results are compiled from a variety of live reports, which are subject to a couple levels of interpretation, and final production of the material for airing on television usually changes context, so...

Take these with a grain of salt, is all I’m saying. Still the big matches, winners/losers and story beats are here.

Filmed Monday, Aug. 22 for probable broadcast in late October and Nov. 2:

- James Storm def. Chris Adonis via pinfall after countering an Adonis Lock into Last Call. This was taped for Xplosion.

- Rosemary def. Ava Storie via pinfall following Red Wedding (Xplosion)

- Mahabali Shera def. Caleb Konley via pinfall following Sky High (Xplosion)

- Moose def. Bobby Lashley via disqualification when Dan Lambert of American Top Team hit Moose with a trophy. Stephan Bonnar was out with Moose. After a brawl, Moose proposes a Six-Sides of Steel for the tag match made yesterday for BFG.

- Johnny Impact and Garza Jr. def. Eli Drake and Chris Adonis via pinfall (Impact rolled up Adonis)

- Jeremy Borash brings out Gail Kim to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Knockouts, and the division’s first champ. She puts over her 4Way at BFG and says she’s gonna bring the belt back where it started - around her waist.

- Ethan Carter III def. Suicide via pinfall following ECD. This may be for Xplosion. It’s noted that EC3 was still working heel here, so this could be for before his moment with Storm the other night, or he’s working tweener, or it’s a longer story, or...

- ATT out for a promo. Lambert runs down pro wrestling and calls wrestlers wanna be tough guys. He vows to put GFW out of business and taunts Jeff Jarrett that he’s swung his last guitar. These guys are said to get a ton of heat from the crowd. The takeaway here was that Moose and Bonnar have accepted and the match with King Mo and Lashley will in a steel cage.

- Mahabali Shera def. X-Division champ Trevor Lee via pinfall following Sky High. This was non-title.

- Taya Valkyrie def. Rosemary via pinfall with a Northern Lights suplex into a double stomp. She tried to continue the beatdown after the bell and got red misted instead. Rosemary screamed “Bloody Mary” repeatedly as Taya slinks away.

- Johnny Impact & oVe def. Eli Drake & LAX (Impact on Santana following a slingshot sunset flip). Before the match, LAX (still without Homicide) and Chris Adonis attacked the Crists on their way out, while Drake hid so he could attack Impact.

- Afterwards, LAX and oVe fought their way out. Adonis and the champ stripped the ring mat up and Drake hit Gravy Chain on the #1 contender. The heels stood tall to end the taping and the BFG ‘go home’ show.
