The viewership totals and ratings are in for last night’s line up (July 27) and Impact Wrestling’s numbers continued to drop this week. The viewership was 286K, down from 322K. The ratings number dropped to 0.06 from 0.07 last week. They lost about 90K viewers in the last two weeks.
So why the drop? It’s possible the popular Shark Week, which sat atop of the cable listings at 1.4 million viewers hurt. It’s possible that as we’re a month into the tapings, people are starting to lose interest or have found all the happenings via spoilers. While the flux in numbers likely doesn’t have a huge impact on their current TV deal, GFW does like to announce when their episodes do very well as a sign of growth. To have the numbers fall right after isn’t a great look.
Next week, they have a Grand Championship match between EC3 and Moose already promoted. We’ll see if that, and the end of shark week, help numbers.
The numbers from the last month:
- This week: 286K / 0.06
- July 20: 322K / 0.07
- July 13: 374K / 0.1
- July 6: 345K / 0.07
- June 28: 268K / 0.07
- June 21: 342K / 0.1
