Impact Wrestling hosts Slammiversary XV tonight, July 2, at 8 EST on pay-per-view (PPV). You can watch it via your cable provider or on-line on the Impact website.
This is the 15th anniversary of the promotion, and despite being billed as XV, the 13th installment of the Slammiversary event. Given the fact that Jeff Jarrett is back in charge and it is their 15th anniversary as a promotion, there will likely be plenty of history being remembered here tonight.
There will be grudge matches, titles unified, and exhibition action.
The match listing is below and will be updated throughout the night. And as always, feel free to discuss the show in the comments below.
The first thing they showed was a legit owl flying onto a perch in the middle of the ring. Then they show Ed Nordholm, the head of the Crash promotion, Triple A, and Pro Wrestling NOAH on the stage.
LAX (c) def. Laredo Kid & Garza Jr. vs. Naomichi Marufuji and Taiji Ishimori vs. El Hijo del Fantasma and Drago to retain the GFW tag team championships after Santana and Ortiz hit their powerbomb/blockbuster combo on Laredo Kid.
Moose & DeAngelo Williams (w/Gary Barnidge and Austin Dillon) def. Eli Drake and Chris Adonis when Williams frog splashes Adonis through a table!
After the match, they powerbomb Eli Drake through another table for good measure.
EC3 def. James Storm in a strap match. After taking a brutal shot into the corner post, Storm rallied and hit a Last Call Superkick. However, when he went for another, he kind of just collapsed. Carter hit an Angel’s Wings for the win. Trainers and doctors tended to Storm after the match.
After the match, Konnan said there will be a new member of LAX coming soon.
The Pope makes his way to commentary for the announcers feud.
Jeremy Borash & Joseph Park/Abyss def. Josh Mathews & Scott Steiner
The match spent some time out of the building in pre-taped bits, including JB and Mathews fighting in a pool with Shark Boy making an appearance. Father John Mitchell gave Park the Abyss match. Shark Boy made another appearance when the fight spilled back into the ring but we easily disposed. When Steiner had JB in the Steiner Recliner, Abyss made the save. The Monster hit a Black Hole Slam on Mathews onto some tacks and Borash hit a splash from the top. Abyss covered Mathews for the win.
Alisha & Eddie Edwards def. Angelina Love & Davey Richards in a full metal mayhem match. Alisha powerbombed Angelina from a ladder into a table right before Eddie did a sunset flip powerbomb to Richards over the top of the ladder into another table on the other side.
Sonjay Dutt (c) def. Low-Ki in a 2 out of 3 falls match to retain the X Division championship
- Low-Ki earned the first fall by rolling through a top rope Frankensteiner, hitting a stomp, and getting a pin
- Sonjay Dutt earned the second pinall by rolling up Low-Ki when he attempted a submission.
- Sonjay Dutt earned the third pin with a moonsault stomp from the top rope.
Gail Kim is ringside for the women’s title match.
Sienna (GFW champion) def. Rosemary (Knockouts champions) to become unified Women’s champion. Rosemary tried to use the mist, but Sienna put her hand over her mouth. Then she raked the eyes with the misted hand when Rosemary had her up in the Red Wedding and ended up locking on a Dragon Sleeper for a submission.
Jeff Jarrett came out and thanked the fans for their support. He tells Alberto and Bobby Lashley to bring their A game.
Alberto El Patron (GFW champion) def. Bobby Lashley (Impact champion) in a unification match to become world champion. Lashley got distracted by Dos Caras, who was in Patron’s corner, and ended up taking the double stomp while hung up on the ropes.
