Impact Wrestling announces first non-televised live show in almost two years

Rumors of Impact Wrestling touring have persisted for a while now, but as with a lot of things with the former TNA, it’s never quite come to pass.

House shows could be a good way for new ownership Anthem Entertainment to spread the word about their product and give the appearance of being a more full-fledged promotion, and get some more money in the pockets of their talent. But every report that would say they were planning on touring would come and go without any action.

Well, Impact just announced an August live event in the New York City borough of Staten Island. It’s only one show, but it’s a start.

The event will be held at Richmond County Ball Park, the home of the Staten Island Yankees, on Saturday August 5 at 6PM. Tickets are set to go on sale next Friday, June 9, with an online pre-sale starting two days before, on June 7.

PWInsider says the company is looking to add another date in the Northeast while they have their roster up there, but nothing is definite yet.

Is this a one-off, or the start of a regular road presence for Impact under Anthem?

We shall see.
