Now more than ever, the world needs a good dose of positivity. We here at Cageside Seats will do our small part to bring that positivity on a daily basis. Throughout the entirety of 2017, we’ll say something nice about wrestling and everything around it, past, present, and future.
As a reminder, only positive comments are allowed here. No negative comments, no troll comments, no back-handed compliments. None of that here. You have the rest of the site for that. Any comments that are not in the spirit of this feature will be flagged, deleted, and posters of said comments may be subjected to a ban.
So today’s kind of a big anniversary in the wrestling world. 21 years ago today, one of wrestling’s most influential stables was born. Today, we say nice things about the New World Order, or nWo if you will.
The legacy of this group cannot be understated. In its original form, they were one of the most vicious groups in wrestling history. They kicked ass, took no prisoners, and ran counter to just about everything that was going on in wrestling at the time.
Whether they were wrestling’s first “cool heels” is up for debate, but they sure as hell made it easy to root for.
Even if the story didn’t end the way it was naturally intended, they helped make WCW—and the wrestling world for that matter—a whole lot interesting at a time when almost no one cared. Here we are, 21 years after its formation, and you can still see the influence all around the wrestling world.
Ok, your turn. Say something nice about the nWo.
