Let’s Say Nice Things About... The Revival

Now more than ever, the world needs a good dose of positivity. We here at Cageside Seats will do our small part to bring that positivity on a daily basis. Throughout the entirety of 2017, we’ll say something nice about wrestling and everything around it, past, present, and future.

As a reminder, only positive comments are allowed here. No negative comments, no troll comments, no back-handed compliments. None of that here. You have the rest of the site for that. Today’s subject: two-time NXT Tag Team Champions Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, collectively known as The Revival.

Maybe it’s me, but The Throwbacks would be a more appropriate name for the duo, as this originally makeshift pairing molded themselves into a throwback into the great teams of yesteryear, including the Brainbusters and the Midnight Express. Definitely the Brainbusters. Hell, Scott Dawson is a dead ringer for Arn Anderson, which I guess makes Dash Wilder Tully Blanchard by default.

Under the WWE umbrella, the Revival is as good a team as there’s been in a long time, and only The New Day’s close (and like The Revival, The New Day molded into a pretty smooth unit over time).

Plus the nWo Bullet Club Elite’s rivalry with The Revival is among the best things on the Internet. I mean, they’ll never get together in the ring except in our imaginations. But maybe, one day...
