Now more than ever, the world needs a good dose of positivity. We here at Cageside Seats will do our small part to bring that positivity on a daily basis. Throughout the entirety of 2017, we’ll say something nice about wrestling and everything around it, past, present, and future.
As a reminder, only positive comments are allowed here. No negative comments, no troll comments, no back-handed compliments. None of that here. You have the rest of the site for that. Any comments that are not in the spirit of this feature will be flagged, deleted, and posters of said comments may be subjected to a ban.
Today’s subject: wrestling legend, author, and philanthropist Mick Foley. It is his birthday after all.
I’ll start. Foley certainly gave all of himself for the wrestling business. And by all of himself, I mean ALL OF HIMSELF. No bump was too big or too dangerous. You knew you got full faith and effort from Foley when he went out there and did his thing. And yes, it almost certainly took years off his life.
While his second run as commissioner leaves a lot to be desired, his first run in 2000 is about as perfect as it can get for a babyface authority figure.
“Cane Dewey” is a fire promo.
He’s also pretty charitable, logging in more than 500 talking with victims of sexual assault in 2010 and 2011.
Overall, he’s as the kids would say a good egg.
Your turn. Say something nice about Mick Foley.
Got a suggestion for a future “Let’s Say Nice Things About...”? Hit me up on the Twitter gimmick @notoriouseddie. I may not always respond, but I will read it.
